I'd like to share a letter just received via email:
Dear Steven,
Congratulations! The Stamp Forum, thestampforum.boards.net, has been awarded a Gold in the 2017 APS Website Award Competition. This award recognizes website excellence. On behalf of the entire community of collectors, thank you for your great work.
As Competition Manager, I was joined by judges Donald J. Chenevert, Jr., Springfield, Missouri and Lloyd A. de Vries, Washington Township, New Jersey. We are fortunate to have this level of expertise assisting us in the judging and it speaks to the value of the competition and your achievement. On the bottom of this email you'll find suggestions from our judges for making improvements to your website.
Your electronic award badge is attached. We hope you will post your award on your site signifying your award level and competition year. A certificate signed by the President and Secretary of the American Philatelic Society recognizing your great work was mailed to the APS representative for your group.
Congratulations again for this award, which exemplifies the very best that is happening out in the local stamp communities. Over the years to come, we will continue building the APS and the hobby through leaders like you. Thanks again for all that you do for the hobby!
Judges Comments:
Real time interaction among members and global access make this a valuable tool and resource for collectors. The vast amount of folders/topics can be daunting to new visitors members. The detailed links within each folder/topic is helpful as is the website search feature. The Stamp Forum website doesn't fall neatly into the website rubric/scoping sheet, but contains a wealth of philatelic information and serves as a venue for collectors to share their knowledge and thoughts. TSF is a content rich website that reflects the members' keen interest in philately and willingness to share their knowledge.
Bimonthly magazine - nice! This is a message board, not a website and many of these criteria don't apply. Hard to score. Rules are clear. Content depends on participants/activity. Well organized. Suggest webpage with easier to remember URL that forwards to the actual main page.

Thanks to all of you who contribute to making our Forum the award-winning site it has become! I hope that we do equally as well in the upcoming Chapter Newsletter competition.
