An interesting variety occurs in the 28K Aviator. On the 3rd and 8th stamps, of the 4th and 9th Horizontal rows (sheets of 100) the second "C" of CCCP has a bulged centre making it look like an "E" I do not have one.

Below is the variety mentioned by rod. Note the bulged center of the second "C". Priced at 100 EUROS and 180$ for MNH in the Lyapin and Zverev specialized catalogues respectively.

Great scan. Never come across either of those catalogues. The bulge to me, due to its part transparency, looks like it may have been a paper biscuit, from the perforation punctures, stuck under the die, and carrying the ink, I have seen that occurence on many stamps. The fact that it is a common variety disputes that hypothesis.
