American Bankers AssociationIn July 1875, 349 bankers from 31 states and the District of Columbia meet in Saratoga Springs, New York, to form the American Bankers Association. On January 3, 1950, the U.S. issued this 3 cent yellow green, perf 11x10.5 stamp to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the formation of the association (Scott 987). Designed by Charles R. Chickering, the central element of the stamp is a coin symbolizing the various fields of the banking service.

The first stamp with a banking theme from Sweden celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Postal Savings Bank. The issue came out in 1933, but the anniversary was in fact in 1934 (as shown on the stamp).

What I collect: Used only - Australia, Great Britain, Canada, Ireland, Western Europe, and Scandinavia, from 1900 to date. That keeps me busy. To be honest I am trying to avoid becoming a WW collector.

When ever someone creates a thread like this - I think " there can't be many stamps about this" then an hour later after browsing and looking its a case of "gosh there are a lot of stamps about this - why have I not noticed this before!" thanks for drawing my attention to this topic

sharonb, I know exactly what you mean. To me, the poster child for this thought would be JeffS. He has taken the theme of "Oranges" beyond where I could imagine and regularly adds new content. He's developed a very impressive thematic collection. Rob
