Hi everyone. After lurking for quite a while I decided it was surely about time to make an appearance. Some of you may remember me from a few years ago on one forum, or more recently on another forum. Being a septuagenarian, I might be here quite a while before I figure out how everything works. I hope I will be able to contribute something useful from time to time. Recently I have been spending most of my time sorting kiloware, so I've tended to focus on nice postmarks more than on the stamps. My favorite item each morning is checking out the new additions to the postmark calendar. That really makes my day! Wishing you all happy stamping! Andrew

Welcome to TSF, Andrew, and thanks for your nice intro post. I have been on the Forum for just over a year now, and I have really enjoyed my time here. I am glad to hear that you enjoy the Postmark Calendar each day--looking at it every morning is how I start my days, too. I hope that perhaps you will have found some nice postmarks in your kiloware lots, and that soon we will see some posts from you, too! Anyway, welcome again, and enjoy your time with us! Best Regards, Chris (aka Beryllium Guy)

Andrew,
I'm glad that you finally decided to take the plunge and join us!
Your membership status has been adjusted to allow you to post in all areas of the forum except for the Buy, Sell, Trade category (that will be available to you in due course).
I doubt you'll run into too many problems figuring out the forum -- you've already mastered posting and shouting -- but don't hesitate to ask if you run into difficulty.

I see I didn't elaborate beyond interest in cancels in the intro. I have been a WW collector for many years, but now am limiting myself primarily to Austria and Hungary in terms of collecting while spending most of my stamp time sorting and soaking for a local stamp club.

Welcome! Do you have many personalized stamps from Austria, like the one in your avatar?

Hi Dorin, Yes, Here is my complete "random" collection. Also, I have about a dozen or so booklets (~ 30+ pages), each booklet containing four or more stamps. (click on image to get enlarged view)

What I collect: If I have a catalogue for it, I collect it. And I have many catalogues ....

There used to be an excellent online catalogue for Meine Marke but it disappeared a while back. This site is the only one I have bookmarked now. You have an impressive collection - I think I've come across a grand total of 2 copies so far. I've posted this online before, my own favourite Meine Marke stamp nabbed from that earlier complete listing catalogue - Jonny the Smoochy Cat! ha ha Ryan

Just a note to let you all know that I'm still alive, though a recent accident set me back a bit and caused me to readjust priorities (less stamp activity, more home stuff) . I'll certainly continue enjoying the wonderful posts, but will likely be only semi-active in the foreseeable future.

I am so sorry to hear about your accident, and wish you the very best for a speedy recovery. Whenever you do have some time, I hope that you will continue to visit us, and make a post or two now and again. Get well soon!! With Very Best Wishes, Chris (aka Beryllium Guy)
