Hi There was a question about Phishing. For a while now I have been using a Chrome extension called Click&Clean. With the extension's settings one can log out of Chrome and clean up all the "junk" one generates while on the internet. Click&CleanIt is amazing how much garbage is generated. I suggest logging out of Chrome using this utility, Jerry B

Thanks for your comments, Jerry. I know that you are quite knowledgeable about IT things, so I really appreciate your advice.
If I have only been seeing this problem on my mobile phone, if I use your recommendation on my laptop, will it do anything? Or do I need to do it on my phone somehow?
Any further comments you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Beryllium Click&Clean is a Chrome browser Extension. It is added to the Chrome Browser itself. When added, an icon is displayed in the upper right corner of Chrome. To logout, one clicks the icon and a drop down is displayed. Click the "Securely Close Browser" option and things are cleaned up and the browser terminated. Remember to check the items to clear using C&C's options. Since it is a Chrome addition, anytime you use the Chrome Browser (phone, tablet desktop, etc..) ClickandClean is available. Note that one can clean individual items also. Just select one from the dropdown. There is another Chrome Extension, WOT (Web of Trust): WOTThis Chrome Extension adds a "signal" to each website listing. Green for Alright, Yellow for Caution and Red for "Don't Go There". Again, this is added to the Chrome Browser and is available on whatever device you are Browsing with. There are a bunch of Extensions available Chrome Extensions, but, in my opinion these two are the best. Jerry B

Does click&clean primarily deal with cookies and cache? You need to watch out for having too many extensions too. They can eat up memory and slow down Chrome.
On a side note, I switched to a solid state drive and it made a big difference in OS load time and performance including Chrome.

Personally I'll give a vote for Ghostery - it's essentially a '3rd party tracking blocker'. What I like about it is the fact it doesn't mess with default functionality of a website nor ads. It just blocks the '3rd party tracking' part of it all, and lets you control settings on side-specific level.
The downside of all browser extensions is that they are desktop only. If you want something similar for the mobile, then you need to install a 'security/privacy browser' - for example Ghostery provides a Ghostery Privacy Browser (see play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ghostery.android.ghostery ) - it is basically the same Chromium you would use normally on Android, but with number privacy related settings enabled + some custom features on top of it all. -k-

Hi
I agree with angore. Too many extensions slow down Chrome. Click&Clean is on demand so no impact. However, WOT has to look up each site, which does slow Chrome slightly. I once used AdBlocker extension but that slowed everything to a "crawl".
Angore: Look at C&C options. It clears: Private Data, Cache, History, Downloads, Cookies, etc.. If you look at the Menu popup, there are "Buttons" for clearing Cache, Cookies, etc. on demand without closing Chrome.
