Hello from Bucuresti, Romania!
My name is Valentin, I am 50 years old and I collect stamps since I was 10 years old. Having a new stamp for me is like having a new toy. I'm vary happy that I was admitted to this forum. I like learning new things, I like talking to other people that collect stamps and I like making new friends. it is my pleasure to be a member of this forum and for admiting me I am saying thank you. I have an important collection of stamps and I want to grow it.
I wish you a very good day. Valentin

Welcome to the forum, Valentin! When you said, "[h]aving a new stamp for me is like having a new toy...", I, and I imagine a substantial number of other members, immediately identified with you. Stay with us awhile, post a lot (maybe with some pictures of your collection), and may your mailbox always be filled with "new toys!"

Thank you all that welcomed me in this forum. My stamp collection isn't too important, it all started when I was 10 years old. My father helped me in buying these stamps. I remember that year after year all he spent 70-80% of his salary on stamps. Now I do have about 40 albums with stamps. I regret that about 10 years ago I sold 5-7 albums. They were very precious to me but I had to do this. I know that philatelic communities are very friendly and philatelists are very wise people. This is why I asked to become a member of this forum. To learn from you, senior members here. Stamps have good value, and this value appreciates with time. I am thanking all people that have welcomed me. I promise to be a good member of this forum.

...I regret that about 10 years ago I sold 5-7 albums. They were very precious to me but I had to do this... Ahhh, I hope you put your money to better use than I did when I sold a GB#1 for US$40 to finance a night at a fancy restaurant with a young lady I had recently met. This was 1984 and US$40 went a lot farther than today. Long story short, the service was great, the food good but scarce (had to hit McDonald's later), and the young lady and I had absolutely nothing in common. I really wanted that stamp back!

Welcome valentinb glad to see your posts. We love looking at stamps here.I've never had to sell anything I valued although I've given away others that I did truly value. Not sure how that works but I surely do enjoy sharing.

Welcome Valentin ! Enjoy your stay and post often. My wife is from Rumania and visits family occasionally although I have never been. I did collect Rumania stamps a long time ago.
Have fun
