2-3 years ago, when my mother was cleaning a drawer from a desk, among many other old philatelic things she found a letter sent from Germany to Romania in 1945. This letter was sent from the US sector of Berlin and has on it the Military Censorship Seal (it was opened after being sent and before arriving to Romania). I wanted to sell this letter 2 years ago to a philatelist from USA, he told me that the value of the letter is about 20 USD. Then a month ago, I have seen that some similar letters were sold on Catawiki (an European auction website) for 80-100 Euro each. I want to ask you if you can appraise my letter, please. I wanted to sell it on Catawiki for 20 Euros, but they told me that the price of their auctions should at 75 Euros. This is the letter:

From what I can see, your cover is fairly common. There are a lot of covers in existence showing a 'Military Mails - Civil Censorship' marking from the US Sector. I have numerous examples myself. The more desirable examples would be with Russian Zone censorship markings.
Unless there is something special about the stamps (I don't have a catalogue), a price of $20 is the most you could expect.

The stamps are relatively common, especially in mint condition. The 15pf value is worth minimum catalogue value unused, and $2.75 in used condition (ref. Germany, Scott #3N9 from 2006 for the Brunswick printing). If the stamps are from the Washington printing (Scott #3N9a), then the CV drops to $1.50 each.

This is the letter: I have no specialized catalogue, what lists prices for stamps on letters of this periode. So I cannot say, what the cat.value of your letter might be. However I do not really understand your problem.I f you want to sell the letter via Catawiki and they say you should ask for € 75 instead of the $ 20 you expected,so the better ! Your pictures are of very poor quality,so it is not possible to be sure, what stamps are on your letter. But one thing is for sure: it was not sent from the American Sector of Berlin, but from Straubing in Bavaria (southern Germany),what was in the American Zone.
