well Omar from what I see posted it is a nice starter collection of varied countries.Consider the packets of stamps your posted. The seller was looking to make a profit from his handling and cost to make them up,in so saying they are interesting and probably worth slightly less than what was paid.I noticed a few stamps that looked to be torn off envelopes and amongst them a few damaged.Your grandfather would probably love it if you continued his start of collecting and better organized it.I saw varied stamps under English colonies that should probably reside in their own countries. Most of what you show is a bit of the more common stamps from many countries although a closer examination is required. A good starting place is the local library who should have a copy of the Scott's catalog for world postage stamps.check it out take it home and look up some of the stamps.Beware the stated prices in the catalog DO NOt represent what the stamps are actually worth on the market. Most stamps sell for less than half catalog price and the majority sell for less than 1/4 catalog. My suggestion would be to look into buying a used world wide stamp album perhaps one with some stamps in it on ebay.By doing this you start out well organized and on your way to the start of a great hobby.

What are you looking to do, keep it or sell it? Either way it would be best to organize it and at the same time learn about the hobby as firstfrog2013 mentioned It is a decent starter collection but none of those shown have any real selling value. The retail prices on the packets are far more than the actual value of the stamps inside them. Your grandpa was a typical world wide collector who probably enjoyed the hobby. If you want to get into the hobby and need some catalog direction PM me and I will see what I can do. Added - if you are keeping them you will need to learn how to soak the stamps off paper. There should be a lesson in the forum files?

Hi nl1947. I want to look for more information about this collection and then i will decide what to do. Unfortunately my granpa dead and i do not know what he wanted to do with this collection. Perhaps I would sell some if there is some premium stamps or well value because i need some money. I can conservate or donate perhaps it will be more useful in a museum where people can consultated. thanks for your answer i will sent you an mp for a catalog.

Omar, stamp collecting is, in my opinion, the most enjoyable of hobbies, but is one of the worst investment instruments out there! The stamps pictured are, as firstfrog2013 said, a great beginning to a worldwide stamp collection. Unfortunately, they are all fairly common stamps and probably have a cumulative value of less than US$50.00. If you are in need of a wonderful hobby as well as an outstanding learning experience, you have a great beginning here. If you are not excited by the prospect of starting a collection, I would advise donating the stamps to a young person who has such interest. I imagine your grandfather would be delighted with either of these choices!

Omar, My suggestion is to first acquire a "stock book" ( CLICK HERE). Once you have begun the process of organizing your collection, you can better decide whether you want to purchase a stamp album, loose leaf stock sheets, etc. Read some of the posts in THIS THREAD for a better understanding of where to go from here.
