NO FAIR CHECKING YOUR CATALOGUES..........let's see if you can guess what Scott decided to list the catalogue value at! I had an older catalogue and I think the price might have changed a bit....I will post the current catalogue value in a few days, after a trip to the library. Or could someone privately email me, so as not to spoil the fun guessing..... I picked the nicely used cover up for about 25 cents last week in a dealer bargain box . I'd never seen this issue before, even though I like back-of-the-book material of all kinds. My selection of 160 worldwide covers of all types from 1860's to 1992 set me back $38, there were many nice pieces from other countries as well. My kind of fun! Thanks in advance, Jim Wentzell stampguyaps177-681

OK, Jim, I have no idea about such things, but I took a guess at the $5-10 range. It seems to me like a "correct use" cover like yours should have a decent value. I will also admit that I do not recall ever seeing this issue before. Is it a stamp or postal stationery? It looks like stationery from the scan....

I had a few earlier ones from the Social Security Administration and if memory serves, the CV was in the $30 range. I'm sure this one is higher than that.

What I collect: If I have a catalogue for it, I collect it. And I have many catalogues ....

I took my guess at the highest value because I have a copy of a similar official envelope with an outrageously high value (obtained by chance, it was in a random box of nonsense, the type of stuff I like to buy). I can't remember what the face value on my envelope was, but I do remember that it was specifically used for passport mailings and it had a catalogue value above $50. But I wonder if maybe my envelope had a higher face value. Can't remember and I won't bother checking until after you've made your trip to the library!

I would think these envelopes would be plentiful as they are most likely used for a common enclosure from a very busy passport office. So based on what I believe to be market availability, I am going to guess $1 - $5.
