Almost a year ago, my wife and I moved from Nebraska to Massachusetts to be near our grandchildren (and their parents). I am enjoying getting acquainted with the philatelic community in New England. My interests in stamp collecting and postal history are varied. Here is a brief summary of these aspects of my philatelic life. Stamp Collections- United States
- Vatican City
- Germany
- Tanzania.
Postal History Research and Writing- Modern U.S., particularly 1960s to the present
- Post-colonial definitive series of Tanganyika/Tanzania, particularly those designed by Rena Fennesy (1960s–early 1980s)
- Interpretation and explanation of auxiliary markings.
Accumulations- Tiny covers
- Twenty-first-century U.S. issues on cover.
Memberships
- American Philatelic Society #211421
- Auxiliary Markings Club
- East Africa Study Circle
- Web Manager, Lincoln (Nebraska) Stamp Club
- Massachusetts Postal Research Society
- Publicity Chairman and Web Manager, Postal History Society #2271
- Friend of the Spellman Museum of Stamps & Postal History
- United States Stamp Society #16238

Hi David. I'm glad to see that you are interested in modern postal history of the US. I'm not very knowledgeable yet (I'm still describing myself as a neophyte collector - I wonder how much longer I can get away with that), but it seems like a fascinating and neglected area of study.

Hi David,
Whereabouts in Mass? There seem to be a bunch of stamp clubs within 30 miles of Boston, which are just on the edge of reasonable driving time for me (southern NH)
