As a collector of religion on stamps I am curious if there are any members in this specialty. Anything related to churches, historical events and people. My focus is on the Christian and Judaic areas. I had written articles on various topics as a member of the now closed Collectors of Religion on Stamps (COROS). I have lately expanded into other areas such as Mosques, Synagogues and Moslem history. Are there any checklists available or good websites? thanks

The American Topical Association has a number of checklists that may be of interest to you -- they may be accessed here.

I have many religious stamps, and it is a personal interest, especially those showing the unity of religion. For example, I have many stamps from Muslim countries that are all about Christ and Christianity. Happy to discuss, maybe post some here.

Hi bluehens:
I don't collect religion on stamps, but I do on covers and cinderellas, the latter by default as they came with lots that I have bought. Maybe I'll start a parallel thread for Religion on Covers. Do you collect covers too? I'm going to send you a message regarding your user name.

Hi Don, what covers do you collect on this theme? e.g. 19th century to pre-WWII,or modern FDCs etc, or themes?

Hi @drkklp :
I don't wish to hijack this thread by posting a bunch of covers, so I'll start a new thread Religion on Covers and provide a sample of what I have on this theme.

Since i was young, there is an image in my head related to God... All begin with a sentence taken from the Romeo and Juliet A name? what's in a name that which we call a Rose with any other name would smell as sweet... (something like, i wrote by memory)... So, everything you are about, don't care its name, but its profume.
And, what's the profume of God?
Nothing to do with stamps, but... which stamps would God collect? (Every God should you believe in)

As a collector of Religion on Stamps, one thing I totally appreciated was when my Approvals provider ( Arpin Philately here in Canada) sent me the following stamp set. Although it is very attractive, and I DO collect sailing vessels anyway, I didn't mind, but I couldn't understand *why* they would have sent me this since I had asked them specifically for "Religion on Stamps"... And then I looked up the catalogue entry for the occasion commemeorated by the series... "The Battle of the Saints", commemorating some fight in the Caribbean "Saint whatever" islands back in the day... WELL PLAYED, ARPIN PHILATELY!
