Hi members !
I have researched The Stamp Forum (TSF) for a couple of weeks now and am happy that my membership be considered.
Started stamping at age 12 and have done an on-off thing all my life, because of my work. I am retired now so have more time to devote to this interesting pastime. My intro: well something clicked about stamps early on and with the approval of my father, got my 1st Album, "Ambassador Stamp Album" - I quickly realized I needed a little more so my father bought me Scott's 6 volume International Abums. I forgot....I am a WW collector with much interest in my Country, Canada, and its Provinces and became a BNA collector while gaining much interest in more Countries. My father started collecting a few years after me but he was a big time collector and bought some collections and his own Canada Albums from Lindner and invested in some pretty nice stamps, FDCs, Stampless covers, etc. For my part, went to studies until I was 24 so stamps did not follow me. Father died in 1999 and I got the many collections and it is only for the past 3 years that I m serious at this "sport".
I would have much more to discuss but prefer to share with upcoming friends on TSF......
Cheers !
René

I still have to learn the "functions" of TSF....but let us take some time Don't sell yourself short -- you've already mastered thread creation, posting, quoting, and adding an avatar and signature. The only routine functions left to master are uploading an image, creating a link, tagging someone, sending a personal message, and posting in the shoutbox.

Everything takes time. Now that you are retired also, there's lots of that. At least there is for me! To the forum, René!

Bienvenue au groupe Canadien. Your avatar is definitely in the running as the most beautiful stamp - reminds me this unique error avatar of my old forgery blog

Welcome to TSF, René! Great to have you with us. My Dad also played an important role in my life as a stamp collector, so perhaps we have that in common. I am not Canadian myself, but I love the stamps of Canada and its provinces. By the way, based on the post from Nelson (@falshung), I am delighted to see that your Bluenose seems to be headed in the right direction! Enjoy your time with us. Best Regards, Chris (aka Beryllium Guy)

It is always pleasant to feel other members' comments. BTW I am french Canadian, though fully bilingual as my Province is officially bilingual.........some 48% do not speak "french", which is understandable.....another story to tell.....LOL Now I have to return to my profile and put a little more details on my stamping interests

Rene, i posted a few images of NS stamps in the NS Stamp thread on Feb 13 this year. They are photos not scans so quality is not the best. I have all varieties in both paper types. I have singles, pairs, strips, corner blacks and many with inscription. Have copies of most of the forgeries. A few covers as well. A few plates proofs but am trying to save and budget for more plates. david
