Hello everybody. A new member to the forum. Started collecting stamps at the age of 12 and doing it for the 20 years already. However, I am still a novice, as I don't have time to delve into the hobby (university, starting family, other matters). Yet, although almost non active, can't get rid of this bug, and find my consolation in reading posts in facebook philately groups and now hopefully here.
Anyhow, my themes of interest are Israel (my home country) and WWII (thematic). Lately, I am thinking about starting a thematic collection in the field of pharmaceutics (my profession). So if there is anyone here with pharmaceutics as a thematic collection, would love to chat.
Have a good time, Kostia

Welcome to TSF, Kostia! I really like the story of how you started to collect stamps at age 12, and despite all of the other important, even predominant things in your life, you cannot "get rid of this bug" to use your own words. It is a similar and familiar story for so many of us! And as it happens, TSF already has another long-time member living in Israel. His name is Michael and hereabouts, he goes by the name of Londonbus1, since he started out in the UK before arriving in Israel. I am originally from the US, but currently living in France, and I had the good fortune to travel to Israel 4-5 times in the past several years on business. I used to work with a company based in Herzliya (near Tel Aviv)--is it anywhere near where you are? Although I use pharmaceuticals regularly to help me cope with my chronic ailments, I am unfortunately not very knowledgeable about pharmacy as a stamp collecting topical area, but I feel certain that it must exist. We have a number of dedicated topical collectors here on TSF, so hopefully, one of them will be able to tell us something. In any case, welcome aboard, show us some scans from your collection, and enjoy your time with us, Kostia! -Chris (aka Beryllium Guy)

Welcome, kostia84. I'm glad that you found us and understand completely how compelling our hobby can be! Your status has been adjusted so you are now able to post in other areas of the Forum. If you're able, I think that we'd all like to see some of your favorite material.
