Hi everyone, I am originally from South Africa but have been living in Vancouver, Canada for the last 20-something years. Until recently my primary collecting interests have been Southern African countries, namely the Rhodesia's, Bechuanaland, Basutoland and Swaziland during the colonial eras, as well as South Africa from 1910 to present day. However in the last year or so I have branched out a bit and am now also actively collecting from the Palestine Mandate period 1918-1948. I also collect when available but don't actively seek out stamps of Israel prior to the introduction of the Shekel in 1980 and Great Britain prior to decimalization in 1971. I am the author of AlbumEasy the free software for creating custom stamp album pages so would be more than happy to answer any questions relating to its use. Clive

BTW: Your site is fabulous, and you're a good dog (my highest compliment) for giving your software away.

Welcome to our Forum, Clive! It is good to finally meet the author of AlbumEasy, which I have used for making pages for a number of the Cinderellas that I've acquired. I'm glad that you found us and hope that you'll enjoy your time here. Your membership status has been adjusted so you are now able to post in other areas of the forum. I recommend that one of your first actions should be to create a thread about your website on the Member Blogs and Websites board.

Clive,
welcome to the Forum. It would be great to eventually see some of your collection. I have a few odds and ends from the countries you mentioned. I have very little knowledge of stamps. Not that the intest is not there. i use your product often. Meets my needs quite well.
happy collecting.

I am not familiar with AlbumEasy, but it certainly sounds like you are doing a great thing there, so let me just say thanks! Perhaps one day I will try it, too. Like you, by the time I found this Forum back in Nov-2016, I was also not sure why it took me so long to find it, either. But the best news is that you did find us, and now you can be part of the gang.... so, let's see some of your stuff! Anyway, welcome again, Clive, and enjoy your time with us! Best Regards, Chris (aka Beryllium Guy)

Wow I can't imagine that many people are moving to Zambia these days. Anything to do with copper mining? Where did you move from? Clive

Hi Clive, and a belated welcome to the forum. I'm also a South African ex-pat, and am just a bit south of you (in Portland, Oregon). Hi Mick, Nice to meet another South African in this part of the world albeit 500km away. Actually Vancouver is rife with ex-pat South Africans, so no problem getting biltong, boerewors, pap and the all important Mrs. Balls. I was in a store this morning and it turned out that the assistant I dealt with was from Mozambique, we spent a few minute reminiscing, it brought back many happy memories of school holidays spent visiting Lourenco Marques (now Maputo) and San Martinho.
