I like my collection is smaller binders. 1" binders are my preference.
I'm also a fan of binders like the Staples Better Binder or the recently discovered by me, Avery Ultralast
Both these binders are not as still and rigid as traditional binder, which, in my opinion, makes using anything bigger than a 1 1/2" binder a pain in the ass when standing them up. But for 1" binders, they're kind of nice.
My original binder of choice was the NakedBinder. But I have two problems with the binder:
1. They use the older style of rings, instead of the ball and socker rings. 2. They're shipping prices are more expensive than the actual binders
So, I do not plan to buy any more of these binders.
The Staples Better Binder has a lifetime warranty and is very sturdy. It has a lifetime warranty from Staples, and has a pocket on the front for inserting a piece of paper, and a clear area on the side to insert a label.
Here are some pics of the Staples Binder:

And now observations:
1. The Better Binder has the clear area to slide the cover in on the outside. The Avery binder has it on the inside. I think the Avery looks cleaner.
2. The Avery spine has a much bigger opening, so you can fit more text than the Better Binder
3. The Better Binder it a bit more rigid then the Avery, but they're both rather "floppy" when compared with a traditional vinyl binder
4. The clear plastic pocket of the Better Binder is a tad annoying for stamp collection. For school students I can see how it would be great.
5. The Avery Binder has a pocket to slide stuff into on the inside of the front and back. That might be handy. If not used, it does lay completely flat, which is a plus.
6. The front cover page on the Avery can slide around inside and look crooked. A small piece of tape to hold it in place is probably a good idea.
Overall, I think like the Avery binder better.

And lastly, price.
The 1" Better Binder costs $9.49, and is currently on sale for $6.00 if you buy 3 of them
The Avery Ultralast is tough to find. Staples and Office Depot now only carry their own brand of binder. No more Avery. I found one binder at Target for $7.79. Amazon also has them for $7.47, but they're an add-on item, so you need to buy $25.00 worth of stuff to get them.

I need 3-ring binders for my US precancelled stamp catalogues, most of which come loose leaf in the smaller 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (14cm x 22cm) paper size. Not much choice in these smaller sized binders, at least not when you're looking to just stop in and buy something off a shelf. My earlier purchases would only give me binder rings that are mounted on the centre spine, but lately they've been coming with D-rings mounted on the back face, as Andy's show here. Those are far, far better - you don't have to move the entire block of pages every time you open the binder, you simply open the front cover and there they are, sitting flat against the back cover.
I need quite a few of these binders because there are a LOT of these small-sized loose leaf precancel catalogues out there - Bureaus, Town & Types, Washington Bicentennial, City Type Coils, Double Line Electros, Foreign Precancels Except Canada and a few more, plus around 35 different state catalogues. After last week's latest purchase I now have 23 of these little binders but I don't know if those are quite enough yet .... time to start filling them up!

In the US these are called mini binders. Check the websites of office supply stores in your area. They may have them.

I bought a few 1" Better Binders from Staples two or three years back, I am quite happy with them except for the front outside clear cover pocket. After awhile they have become very "sloppy" (for want of a better term) and look rather untidy as per the photo:
I also don't like the pocket on the inside cover of your Better Binder, I really think that it detracts from the binder for album use. I wondered why you chose those as the binders I have, have only a simple flap which I think is perfectly acceptable:
Coincidentally I had to go into Staples for something else earlier today, I was surprised to find that all the Better Binders, except for the 1/2" now include that bulky pocket in place of the flap. That is disappointing, in reality I wonder just how many people actually use the pocket in the average office environment.
So it seems that one either has to live with the pocket, use only 1/2' binders or find an alternative to the Better Binder. I like the 1" size, so I think I am going to look for something else for my next album.

The pocket used to only be ab option during back to school season. I guess it sold so well they decided to make it a year round thing. They used to have both kinds of binders on sale at once, then I guess they eventually phased out the non-pocket ones.
The binders do have a lifetime warranty. Perhaps the ones that went "more floppy" on you could be exchanged by the store under warranty?

I see you have rounded corners on your Mystic pages. I bought a rounded corner punch. I've been rounding my pages slowly. I like the like of rounded corners better. My old White Ace album got me kind of hooked on that.
I loved the White Ace album,. but it was EXPENSIVE. And I was at least 10 years behind on supplements. With binders that cost well over $30 each, and supplements that were $25-$30 a piece, as well as a weird collecting style requiring that you mount all se-tenants connected and separated, and mount whole booklets, I abandoned it when I get back into the hobby in 2009.

I have one 2" binder for Tuvalu, but it is really just too unwieldily. The 1-½" binders seem to be fine with me. Maybe I'll pop over to Staples in Belleville & see what they have for binders. "Rock, Paper & Scissors", a private locally owned shop is somewhat limited as to the binders they can supply.
I like the rounded corners & have seen the punches, but if I were to do that, I'd have to alter the border of the sheets I print out to match the rounded page corners!
