Last year's selection process was conducted in two phases; unfortunately, interest waned and member participation in the final selection phase was poor.
In an effort to prevent a similar outcome, this year's selection will be conducted through a single poll.
Please select the one article you consider to be the "best" from among those published in the Newsletter's Volume 2.
The article receiving the most votes will be forwarded to the American Philatelic Society to be posted on its website as our Chapter's 2018 Article of Distinction.
Polling will remain open until Midnight, Sunday September 30th (New York Time).
The polling results will not display until after the poll has closed.

I decided not to include the article written by Anping and those pulled from SWH's website as both members are deceased and APS requires a signed release from the author before they will post their work on the Articles of Distinction portion of their website.
Some here have voiced the opinion that this was an arbitrary and/or unfair decision on my part and one that was not in the best interest of the Forum.
Accordingly, if you have already voted for one of the articles listed in the poll and would like to change your vote for Anping's or one of SWH's, remove the check from your selection in the poll and create a post on this thread that gives the title of the article and the issue number that it appeared in.
If you have not already voted in the poll just create a post on this thread that includes the article name and issue number.

I fully understand and agree to the reasons, why the articles in question were not put on the list. I do not think that this decision was arbitrary, let alone unfair ! However as it is now possible,I want to put my vote to:
"The postal History of Japan" by Gerben Van Gelder, volume 2/issue 3

With just 16 votes cast (15 poll + 1 write-in), three articles are tied for 1st place with 2 votes each and ten articles are tied for 4th place, each with 1 vote. Just under two weeks remain in polling and 326 members may still make their opinion known. 22 votes were cast in last year's balloting and we finished with a tie -- will history repeat itself? You can't influence the outcome if you remain on the sidelines!

With 17 poll votes and 1 write-in recorded, we now have a 5-way tie for first place in the best article selection process.
Make your voice heard and vote for your favorite article from the 5 issues comprising Volume 2 of the Newsletter!

Less than 2 days remain before the poll closes.
We currently have a two-way tie for first place with 19 poll votes and 2 write-ins.
Surely more than 21 members have read the forum's newsletters...

As with last year's competition, we have once again ended in a tie for first place between Londonbus1 for his Cinderella Corner article "Touring Great Britain" and Beryllium Guy for his second "Visiting Stamp Shops Around the World" article. Michael (Londonbus1) has graciously suggested that Chris' (Beryllium Guy) article be the one to represent the Forum this year as our 2018 APS Article of Distinction. Congratulations to both of these members for their excellent submissions!

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who encouraged me and helped me to write these articles in the first place, which is @falshung, tomiseksj, and Londonbus1. You all played important roles in that, and without your support, I never would have followed through, so thank you! And special thanks to Michael (LB1) for your truly selfless suggestion that it should be my article which is submitted to the APS to represent TSF this time. Yours was also an excellent contribution, and clearly worthy of being selected, too. Well, I am both humbled and honored to represent this Forum, which means so much to me. My heartfelt thanks to all of you! -Chris ( Beryllium Guy)
