Welcome to our Forum, Brandon! It is refreshing to find new members who are excited about the hobby and eager to learn. I've adjusted your membership status so you can now post in most other areas of the forum -- in that regard, this board is just for introductions so I've merged your Kansas-Nebraska post into the the related thread on the U.S. board.

Welcome
Hopefully you have some catalogs to sort your stamps. The early US Washington/Franklin have many varieties, some are valuable - so although unlikely, you never know The Germany inflation stamps can also have some value.

Welcome, Beezy!
I was just looking at your Germany inflation issues, and there's a 15pf Germania there on the lower right that has a cancel I've never seen before. Anyway I can get a close-up of that?
Thanks, Andy

Nl1947 thanks for the link!! When I found those German surcharge stamps (hope I got that right) I was so excited and I didn't know anything about them I just thought they were great to look at. Lol. I still don't. I will try and post a better "close up" picture for you. I have a thought time uploading the right size picture. It takes me forever. Lol

Berylliumguy (sorry if I misspelled that) thanks a lot to you and everyone else for the warm welcoming. I actually am based in Leesburg, FL. Originally from Massachusetts. Only been here about 3 years. But I always say y'all Lol it just doesn't sound so "country" coming out of my mouth! 😂 and thanks I have never seen any of these type of stamps before (the German surcharge stamps) so they're all new to me! I'm going to the library tomorrow to see if I can check out a couple catalogues. Any suggestions on which ones to get? Also could I find those German stamps In the "scott catalogue" or is that just U.S?

That only means I don't know what stamps numbers are I literally have to look every thing up! 😂 also I see you're from NH?!! I'm from New England myself! Specifically Taunton, Mass. South Shore bout 30 minutes from Boston. In florida now. Do you ever come out here to visit?? Orlando or "the villages"?

In your 4th photo, the stamp in the bottom right has a "1,60 M" overprinted on it... 2 stamps above that one is another of similar design but with an interesting cancellation on it. :-) It stood out for me because I'm currently working on filling out my early Germany collection, and I'm thinking about putting together an exhibit for a philatelic show next year centered on Germany's "Germania" series (except the top one, the whole column in the photo are Germanias). I'm also pretty new to this forum, and there's a LOT of great information here, and very helpful and knowledgeable people here!
Re: Orlando, of course! I'm a huge Disney fan, so I try to get down there every couple years, and expect to be there again in the first couple weeks of January 2020 to see the new "Star Wars Land"!
And re: Taunton, MA, I've been to the towns all around it (both in RI and MA), but I'm just not sure I ever did anything but drive through Taunton, MA. Taunton, NY, however... I grew up about 2 miles away from there.

Pinging ajkitt - it looks like that postmark is from a slogan cancellation. It reads "Nimm ein Postscheck-konto!" (get a postal checking account!). Here's an image nabbed from Marktplatz Philatelie, a German stamp business. Ryan

See? This is what I'm talking about... this forum is a goldmine of information. It's a pretty rare question that ends with "I dunno…" here! :-)
Thanks again! Andy
PS I think it's seriously cool that the slogan just happened to center that way. I would have loved to see how that stamp was arranged on the original cover to make that happen, right? ;-)
