These islands (the stamps are also labeled for Carn Deas) are small uninhabited islands in the Summer Isles off Achiltibuie near Ullapool in North West Scotland. Half of a set of 6, issued in 1961 and 1962

Are these Carn iar or Carn Lar Carn Deas
Side note: Even the famous Australian Cinderella collector, (Bill Hornage) had no knowledge of these (provenance etc)
Possibly cinderellas to promote British Sea Birds.

Hello Rod, nice to see you. With tongue placed properly where it should be, I read the phrase in question, understand it's a proper place name and know the first letter of the second word must be a capital letter (unless you are e. e. cummings). Then proceed merrily on my way. Tra la la, la la....

Whenever I see your name, I recall your fabulous Canadian War Tax pages... Masterpieces. PS: Thanks for your grammar instruction. (So going by your thread post heading, you are calling CARN IAR with an i not an L ) Here are other Carn Iar, and Carn Deas stamps, and the Summer Isles Post office, My pea sized intellect, cannot explain the colours on the stamps, Can you offer any insights perhaps?
