A couple weeks ago I read that Canada's postal service might go on strike. Anyone else hear this and if so is there any new news?

A couple weeks ago I read that Canada's postal service might go on strike. Anyone else hear this and if so is there any new news? The possibility of a work stoppage has hovered over Canada Post since Sept. 26 after postal workers voted overwhelmingly in late summer in support of a potential walkout to back their contract demands. But that initial deadline passed without any job action being launched, with CUPW saying it would stay at the bargaining table so long as there was progress in the talks. We are talking about 50,000 employees here. 72 hour notice should be received prior to any strike. René |

So far any interruption in service has been avoided. Both sides agreed to go back to negotiations to a settlement. Let’s hope they come to some agreement.

I hope the come to an agreement as well. I have stamps in the mail coming to me. I want them ASAP, not next year!
Why did I order this stuff with that possible strike looming?

I hope the come to an agreement as well. I have stamps in the mail coming to me. I want them ASAP, not next year! Why did I order this stuff with that possible strike looming? Pete I believe that the Union wants to use the upcoming Holidays as a "tool"....that is why we may not have the strike yet (if any) ! Your stamps should, I hope, have time to arrive ! René |
