In 1926, St. Pierre & Miquelon ran out of postage stamps, so they used rubber stamping instead. Here is an example for a "PP 0.30" franking ("PP" = "Port Payé" = "Postage Paid"), mailed from St-Pierre to Paris in July of 1926. Stampings of "PP 0.05" or simply "PP" can also be found.

Wow, that's a cool piece of postal history, unknown for me until now 😎. Always things to learn on this forum!

A new arrival; obviously a philatelic cover; but I think it looks nice anyway.

Thought this thread should be rebooted. Would be nice to see some covers with more recent stamps.

I can provide one post-card, mailed to me by my parents when they visited St-Pierre back in 2006. The stamp on the card is YT#861. A very nice and clear slogan cancel to boot.

Why does this small, close to Newfoundland/Canada, island has with so much interest ??
Thanks for sharing !! René
Wife and I wanted to explore St. Pierre - You have to go to Newfoundland, drive, take a ferry to the Island etc etc - so complicated even if we, in New Brunswick, are not that far - this Summer and the presence of lots of Air cancellations/Covid/ etc (Euro has seen a fall, so has the $C) - I think next year is going to be the year to travel to St. Pierre & Miquelon and practice our french with the locals as we are fully bilingual LOL !! and buy stamps and maybe meet some Philatelists (local) - no language problem for me
