Dear all, I’m Hironobu (unechan here at TSF) from Osaka, Japan. It is my pleasure to join this forum, and I do expect to extend my knowledge on our wonderful hobby and also may contribute a little to solve questions regarding Japanese philately.
I started collecting stamps while spending my childhood in Hamburg, West Germany. However it is only a couple of years since I have restarted after a really long hibernation, thus I must admit I am still a sort of novice in philately.
My major interest is Japan in general, with more focus on materials from the classical and semi-classical period; thus I may contribute to aid your questions on stamps, postal stationeries, postmark/cancellations and BOB materials from this period. I am also interested in Germany infla issues and US “pointing hand” postmarks and hoping to exchange information here.
I will be happy to answer (or at least provide clues) any Japanese related questions or inquiries, and I am looking forward to be in touch with you all.
Regards, Hironobu

A very warm welcome to you, Hironobu!
I was just handed a pair of canceled 2018 international letter writing week stamps from Japan by someone who knew I collected stamps.
Looking forward to seeing parts of your collection, including the pointing hands!

Welcome to TSF, Hironobu ( unechan)! I have been to Osaka on several occasions over the past 30 years, and I have always enjoyed my time there. I still have a friend and former business colleague there, so there is a chance that I may still return at some point. I am very interested in the stamps of classic Japan, and you can check out a post about one of my previous visits to the Philatelic Museum in Tokyo here: thestampforum.boards.net/post/50910/threadAnyway, I look forward to seeing you around the Forum, Hironobu. Best Regards, Chris (aka Beryllium Guy)

Welcome to the forum, unechan! As you noted, there is a lot of info here, and a lot of collectors with a wealth of info, including yourself. I never caught on to Japanese stamps, but just adore the Parks issues from the 40's. I have but one souvenir sheet that is impeccable!
