I take my damaged stamps and glue them to something boring to make it interesting. This was the first item I did this to and now I use it for my hinge holder.

And another one I did. It started out as a pen holder but ended up being a miscellaneous holder.

I've seen some stamp mosaic pictures where the artist has cut up stamps to use for their color.Your items seem much more do-able. I'd buy them you should put some out on consignment.

I have seen some of those mosaic pictures too. I just don't think I would have the patience to figure out all the colors for that. This is just something I do while watching TV in the evenings. I have a huge ziploc bag full of stamps that will go on something.

And another one I did. It started out as a pen holder but ended up being a miscellaneous holder. Janet, I agree with Frog ( firstfrog2013)--these are nice enough that you could market them! It really takes me back, too, as I remember back in the 1970s my mother bought a pencil holder that was decorated with a collage of 4 and 5-cent US commemorative stamps, mostly from the 1960s. I can remember being annoyed at the time, as some of the stamps that were glued on the cup were ones I needed for my collection! But I also recall that after being glued onto the object that they were intended to decorate, the stamps were coated with some type of varnish or shellac or something. Do you use any sort of coating to seal the surface of your stamp art objects? I am just curious....

I just spray it on, let it dry and put on another coat. The ashtray was sprayed with a clear plastic coat that didn't seal very well so went with the Mod Podge for the glass. I have also thought about dipping the next one I complete in polyurethane for a thicker coated finish.

Thank you for the kind words above. I will look around the stores here and see if I can find a frog that would make a good paperweight.

Wow! That is amazing. A very colourful creative use of stamps. Greatest frog I have seen in a long time.

Jad ( Bombadil ), more than 10,000 damaged stamps is a sobering thought indeed. It is especially so, because we know from what you have shown of the original collector's material, that he had a lot of high-quality, highly desirable stamps. I hope that we will have dinner together on that table one day, Jad! I will plan on bringing the wine.
