Hi I have just started to use the Google Chrome browser. When I used IE I cleaned up, deleted, all the Browsing history and cookies. I searched the internet to find a method in Chrome for doing the same thing, i.e. clean up. I found an add-on(Chrome Extension) that performs the task. It is called Click&Clean and is available at: chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/clickclean/ghgabhipcejejjmhhchfonmamedcbeod?hl=enThis Extension has many options for cleaning up Chrome Browser files. I am posting this for the benefit of anyone else new to the Chrome Browser and wishes to clean up after an internet session. Also check out the other available Extensions. Some of them you may find useful: chrome.google.com/webstore/category/ext/7-productivity?hl=enJerry B

Jerry, Chrome already has a clean-up native to the software.
Click on the three lines top RHS Then Tools Then clear browsing data Then set the clean up that suits you.
I don't tick the personal cookies.

Hi Rod
Thanks for the info. Like I said I am new to the Browser and still trying to get used to it.
The Click&Clean is used when I shut down the Browser. The Extension puts a Red C next to the 3 lines. I then click that and then click "Securely close browser". I believe the other does it any time you want, without closing the browser, so it is 2 different animals.

Google Chrome has an incognito mode in which none of your browsing history is saved. I think later versions of IE have that also. It's commonly known as "porn mode", for somewhat obvious reasons, I guess. When you use the incognito mode you don't have to delete anything at the end of your browsing session because nothing gets saved. I use it for newspaper sites that have paywalls that permit a limited number of articles before you need to pay to view more. Over the course of a month, I might read enough articles from the Globe & Mail that they cut me off from reading any more. So, I switch over to the incognito mode, and since it doesn't save any cookies that say how many pages I've read, I can continue on. All your bookmarks are still accessible in incognito mode, and you can still save bookmarks as well. Ryan

Speaking of browsers... I switched to Chrome about 2 years ago (from Firefox) The dominance by Chrome in the last 9 - 12 months is a little worrying - I would not like the situation where the other two give up and we are stuck with just one available browser. Chrome is good now because it was in 'war' mode with the other two - we need the competiton to keep the browser development on going.

I've used both Chrome and Firefox. I'll pretty much use anything other than IE. I've been heavy Chrome user for a while, but lately I have been drawn to Firefox.

I have been using Firefox for years. I have tried chrome, it seems fine but will stick with FF for now since it has worked well.

Hi
Thanks for the tip on using "incognito". I found that I could add -incognito to my Chrome shortcut to launch Chrome in incognito mode. It seems that some things I do will be blocked, but I am not sure so I'll have to look into it further. From what I have read it seems that it only blocks history and cookies. I guess I will keep using Click&Clean to close the browser as it clears all files, history, cookies, cache, etc. I will use incognito on a "as needed" basis.
I have tried FireFox but there were some things I did not like. I am getting more comfortable with Chrome.
Lets face it. At one point we had Netscape and Internet Explorer and then Internet Explorer only. So for a while there was only one Browser. I do agree that there has to be competition for Chrome, other than IE.
Thanks for all the feedback.
