I present for your viewing pleasure three Brazilian revenues stamps. This first is from the Empire of Brazil meaning it dates to some time before 1890. These are printed from beautifully engraved plates. This second one is likely from the 1940's or 1950's. This one is printed with what looks like typography. This third one is easier to place as a year is on the stamp of 1963.

Today while eating lunch, I spied what looked like selvedge with writing in amongst some unsorted stamps. Upon pulling it out for a closer look it looked like maybe the selvedge from a gutter pair. Upon holding up to the light I could see it appeared to be on a ribbed paper and if held at an angle I could see something looking like an official stamp of sorts. Scanning at 3200 dpi I could barely make out what looked like Interio (a tax stamp?) and 400. By playing with the colors on my scanner I could see it was indeed a stamp, and appears to be Brazil 400 reis i have no references for Brazil (and in truth not a country I collect), but an interesting few minutes none-the-less!
