Red Cross, 1949. Found on a collection that I'm helping to sale. Should it be the use legitim, the value would be quite high. What's your view?

It is quite obvious, that an item what is more than twelvefold more expensive in cancelled condition, than it it is in mint, needs expertising.Cancel-forgeries are plentiful !

cursus I don't have this block in my collection. Unfortunately, I did not find a similar cancellation in the cancellation database from "stampsx.com" or "philastempel.de" (German language sites very useful for German stamp collectors) IMHO the cancellation ink is deep black and possibly made on a computer printer (low resolution is not helpful in evaluation) I used 2 images from the "stampsx" website to present the fake and original block (offsetdruck and Rastertiedfruck respectively) Before certification, it is better to request an evaluation from the members of the "stampsx" forum (an image with a better resolution is still necessary)

Thank you very much for the feed-back. I'll hold it by now, for later expertization. I won't include it on the sale of the bulk of the collection to a stamp dealer. I'll need to do some further research.

For comparison of Scott #5NB$a(and to give this thread a bit of a bump), here's an 'unused" example- it is un-gummed and measure correctly 90 x 101mm. For these to be legitamately postally 'used" some type of adhesive would need to be applied.... would there be a trace left behind? I have also included a scan of each of the areas that gstamps , and while doing so I noticed that the lower stamps are not parallel (?), the upper pair is much closer in layout.... (compare the ochre criss-cross to @cuscus image gstamps where is stampsx to be found? you be the judge

Hi stainlessb - search in browser www.stampsx.comYou can only see the images after you register. There are very good information and images about German stamps. There is information about the setting of the Epson V600 scanner and the scanning software to obtain images as close as possible to the real color. Everything is wonderful except the fact that it is in German. When I go to the site to learn more, I have "translate.google" open and I don't always understand the translation.

Hi stainlessbI tried to translate and understand the mentions from Michel. The block was issued without gum. There are two types of blocks depending on the thickness of the letters "BLOCKPREIS" I think yours is type II (where it is mentioned that the letter B is smaller) I think that the foot of the letter P is also smaller and then it falls under Michel Bi.1 II/IV The size of the block is 90x100mm

it's not letting me in... I have tried a different browser, cleared cache, restarted... same results If you happen to have any spare time, if there is a way to contact their site admin, sent them my e-mail, perhaps responding from my e-mail will work? Yes, my French is slightly better than my German
