Grdeetings all-
I started collecting stamp at a young age, being introduced to the hobby by both my Grandmother and an Aunt and Uncle who all collected atamps. This carried into my early 30's and for I few years I was a member of the APS. Life then became more involved and stamp collecting soon ended up boxed up and put away. In recent years I inherited several collections and that box of stamps turned into many boxes of stamps.
Fast forward to the age of 66* and with the urging from wife to "Do something with all those stamps!" I am happily returning to the hobby. My intereset is US stamps up to ~1960. much of the collections I inherited are worldwide and my first task is to organize and identify what's what, and then hopefully either sell or trade with the main goal of adding to and improving the quality of my US collection.
So the adventure begins again! I will have many questions as I have a growing group of stamps that I cannot identify, as well as questions about such things as sheets of more modern US postage which has had a stamp or a block removed, or one corner was "licked" and pasted to a page (my grandmother....). Many decisions to keep me busy for some time to come!
*still working, but the countdown is about to begin

Yes indeed, welcome to TSF, Stainless! Sacramento is a nice town. I have visited there on several occasions, and always found it fun and interesting. Your story is also a familiar one, so don't hesitate to ask questions as they arise and show us some images of your material. See you around the boards! Regards, Chris (aka Beryllium Guy)

I hope you'll find TSF, as I have, informative and full of fellow philatelists ready to share their expertise, which covers extensive swaths of this hobby. We're looking forward to seeing your posts of mystery material and any other treasures.
