I have used these binders for items in protective sleeves without a slip cover. These were purchased off amazon. You did not watch out since the same item has multiple listings and prices. It comes in several colors and comes with 5 high quality protective sleeves. The covers are thicker than many binders and will stand on end without support (bookends). Red was not my first choice but after I started I decided to not switch.
I just purchased a 12x12 binder (much bigger) on a whim to see it would be good for a full size mint sheet binder. The 3 ring pages from a Scott mint sheet album fit without issue especially on width. It is substantial compared to a standard 8½x11 binder.
