Received today, Württemberg MiNr. 7a, 3 kr orange with silk thread, issued in 1857, and nicely postmarked from Stuttgart on 15 August 1858: That's a nice stamp. I haven't gotten to my old, numbers under 46, Wurttemburg stamps yet. I will be getting to them soon. I have so many to look through, it may take me a while.

I was away from stamping for a few days because of work overload, but the pace has slackened somewhat so I can showcase the latest arrival, Württemberg coat of arms issue MiNr. 6b, 1 Kreuzer light brown:

Received today- The seller has more and I just may get a few more! ... Wow. Really nice stamps. How do you store half sheets? I have some Germany half sheets and whole sheets, but I don't really have a way to keep them. Other than the way they came, folded, in an envelope.
Have a great day. Mike.

mikeclevenger I have some very large Showgard mounts - The whole sheet i have basically covers on entire page, so any text description would be on a facing page (and I still may just frame it and hag on the wall), if a page it would be landscape (meaning sideways in my album. The half sheets will also be landscape, but a bit easier to fit and describe on the same page. I'll post in DIY pages when i have one that seems to not be too great a disturbance "in the force". So far all i have is Wurttemberg, so only one area of an album will need to rotated 90 degrees to view.

A small accumulation I received today. These are the more interesting ones, there is another page of surcharged (all mint/hinged) and the ever popular city view series (10 pfg - 3.00 Mark, also mint/hinged...)

A new arrival of Württemberg stamps today! The pièce de résistance is the first stamp on the left, the 5 Mark blue, MiNr. 54. The other stamps are MiNr. 55, 59, and 105.

Is that embossing I see in the field behind the 5? Looks like it extends fully across the stamp

It's the texturing of the paper. Not a particular embossing or watermark.

I have a moderate number of Wurttemberg stamps, N. Confederation, Fr. Colony, Official Stamps, Germany 1875 forward mostly used but in good shape. Here is my addition to the thread: a number 9 Wurttemberg. I may add others later.

Looks like paper embossing does not show up too much on the right side of the stamp. Just used some of my software programs for your interest.

This is what the back of the stamp looks like: I see a similar pattern on my mint MiNr. 61 (the 30 pf. value from the same set), so I would speculate that this is just aging of the gum that crinkles the paper slightly.

the gum shrinking/checking over time makes sense- much like old lacquered and shellac'd pieces

A page of my Württemberg stamps, nothing special, some are really bad. Not my collecting area, the missing stamps are too expensive.

While looking for to see if I had any other German overprints to match the stamp (just posted in Germany) I found this amongst several Vario sheets i had stuck in the back meaning to go through and organize later. I belive this is Michel #48 (?) but I am unsure, the photo is the Michel catalogue is very small and in b/W. Elsewhere (in this thread) I see this stamp, but more orange. Gum seem sintact, but there is a hinge remnant securely attached which I will leave alone (you can just see some of it on the top perf)

My own copy of Württemberg MiNr. 48, which appears browner than yours, and with symmetric ornaments at the top of the stamp:

Nothing is called out in Michel Specialized (but I do only have the 1999 issue, so maybe someone with a more recent copy will chime in if there is any notation of this) and it looks like the orange shades are the 1890 issues #57 Here are three more stamps- and it appears that either this is not uncommon, or I have really good luck having these show up (in two color shades) seems only denomination This is hard to discern due to the cancellation, but a close up (below the full scan) seems to show the fleur de lis to likewise be incomplete Here is the 3pf 1890 issue # 55 Here is the 5 pf 1890 issue # 56 neither seem to have the same plate characteristic as # 57 Here is (1875) # 48 brown-red, there are two shades, but I think these may both be the same, not sure if there is an appreciable enough difference, but fleur de lis is complete Looking at the 1875 20 pf blue shades (4) v#47 also appears to have complete fleur de lis on left I am only posting one image, despite the short perfs on left, this one is the easiest to see the left fleur dew lis (although I have 5 more of varying shades... though which is which )

Something I don't get to do often anymore is add to my Württemberg collection, because the missing pieces are few and far between. But this month I struck gold, literally, with the MiNr. 3b rebuilding tax stamp:
