NL - are these genuine or forgeries? Probably Genuine - a couple are debatable As you may know the originals were issued in May 1919 followed by a large "reprint" in October 1919 in a slightly different overprint color. The price relationship being about 25:1 for the originals One would require a full plate to correctly determine these as the overprints are not consistent. If you have any info, it would be welcome

I've studied/read alot about these over the past few years. There was one website in particular that was extensive that I looked at until my eyes were bugging out. Never came to any conclusions. Have a set that I'm convinced is fake, but have never been able to determine conclusively anything about this series. Especially when we start talking about the color of the overprint. I'm guessing you've seen the same websites, but I'll try to track it down & post it...

Poland: Offices in the Turkish Empire 1919 Levant Overprint ForgeriesWhen Nelson (known as falshung and nl1947 at different times) started this thread back in Mar-2019, I was amazed, because I never knew that there were Turkish Empire overprints on stamps of Poland. It is truly unfortunate that we have lost the images of these stamps that he originally posted. In a small effort to put some content back into this thread, a couple of months ago I acquired this short set of what are believed to be Poland Levant Overprint forgeries. I may not be keeping these stamps myself, because when I bought them, I was under the impression that this was a complete set, and that these were reprints rather than forgeries. I am taking them back to the source this weekend, so will report what happens when I explain to the dealer what I think I have discovered. Believed to be Forgeries of Poland - Offices in Turkey, Sc 2K1-2K4, 2K6-2K8, and 2K10-2K12.

Poland: Offices in the Turkish Empire 1919 Levant Overprint Forgeries (cont'd)
Regarding the stamps pictured in the previous post: This past weekend, I did take these back to the dealer from whom I bought them at the Paris Stamp Market back in June. He did not offer any further information about why the stock card was marked "faux" (forgeries in English) on the reverse, and simply said that he would refund my purchase price or give me credit toward another purchase.... I took the latter, of course!
So, I no longer own the stamps shown in the previous post. I will continue to look for these and see if at some point I can find a better deal on a set of interest, either genuine with provenance or reprints.

If you're looking those stamps, let me know. Privately i can give you some reference where (most probably) you can find them...
