The stamps were printed in sheets of 100 (10 x 10).On the top-selvage so called "Reihen-Wert-Zähler" were printed. In the case of the 5 Pfg.-stamp on top of the first vertical row the Reihen-Wert-Zähler was 0.50,second row 1,00, fourth row 2,00 till tenth row 5,00. The idea was to make the counting easiar,if bigger numbers of stamps were bought by a customer. Reihen-Wert-Zähler = row-value-counter (translated literally)
