Hi, I am a new member from Israel. Saved stamps from all over the world for over 40 years, then decided to concentrate on Locals, Private and other unofficials. For the past 15 years I have been producing CD Catalogues of this type of unofficial philately, and have so far published 27 of these and am in the process of preparing 5 others. Will of course be glad to supply details to anyone interested. My email address is : phillipo@012.net.il

For the past 15 years I have been producing CD Catalogues of this type of unofficial philately, and have so far published 27 of these And I own a couple of them! I snagged some info from your British Locals catalogue to add to our thread on Gugh Island stamps - I had an Eddie Izzard comedy routine on my mind and couldn't resist more-or-less repeating an Engelbert Humperdinck joke .... Welcome to TSF!, I hope you enjoy your time here with us. Ryan

hi member389845,
Welcome! Looking forward to seeing some posts and maybe some of your material! Lots of collectors, myself included, like private/local posts, as well as a lot of related items like Cinderellas, a catch-all phrase for non-stamp "stamps". I particularly like actual covers and cards which traveled through mail-like systems, real or imagined. For example British Strike covers from around 1970, the many local posts throughout the world, even totally made-up "fantasy" covers from islands or areas totally uninhabited. Something about the allure of an obscure place and time...
Even though nearly all these items were produced either for profit, propaganda, or entertainment, they are all a bit of a window on the past and pique my curiosity constantly! So please delve into our corner of friendly philately!
