Ukrainian Bandurists Chorus. 1861-1961 Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko March 9 [O.S. February 25] 1814 – March 10 [O.S. February 26] 1861) was a Ukrainian poet and artist. He is also known under the name Kobzar after his most famous literary work, a collection of poems entitled Kobzar. His literary heritage is regarded to be the foundation of modern Ukrainian literature and, to a large extent, the modern Ukrainian language. Shevchenko is also known for many masterpieces as a painter and an illustrator. Kindly donated by Ryan TSF.

A page of mine regarding the Ukrainian Post. I add another issue I presume to belong to the set, but if anyone can confirm, it would be appreciated. ID on this one at all? Thanks.

There are more Ukrainian Cinderellas than you can shake a stick at. After the Soviets took over Ukraine, the government in exile continued to issue postage. There was also a planned invasion of Ukraine prior to WW II to try and take it back from the Soviets. Field Post stamps were commissioned and printed, but the invasion never happened. Ukrainian charitable organization worldwide, including the Ukrainian scouting group "Plast" issued stamps as fundraisers and other activities for many years. I think there may be more issued Ukrainian Cinderellas, that there are actual real postal issues.

These recently came to me by way of Western Australia -- I'm not sure how to refer to them (e.g., stamp tabs, labels, cinderellas, sheet filler, etc.) so, for now, I'll call them cinderellas. They are from one of the two miniature sheets of six 70k Ukraine stamps (Peasant Houses) issued October 24, 2007 (Scott 699). The stamps are inboard on the sheet in 3 rows of 2; these are outboard between the stamps and the sheet's selvage. The first is to the left of the Boikivschyna house (699c) and the second to the left of the Poltava house (699e).

Yes, they are nice, I have a set (no postage stamps) I have been referring to them as "Stamp Tabs", however I think in future, I'll follow Scott and call them "Labels" using that term, I can search Scott for the text string (But all labels are not listed, or referred to)

Descriptions for them always says "Sheet of xx with one label in the botton left/right corner." Check out this locomotive sheet: home.nestor.minsk.by/fsunews/ukraine/2010/ua1091-4sh.htmlI think they do this stuff on purpose to entice people to collect sheets. Ukraine does have some very nice decorative selvage on their sheets.
