I noticed that Amos recently removed their catalog app from the app store. I sent Amos an email this morning and they confirmed that the app has been "retired" and has been "replaced" by the web site.
I figured that was OK, since the eCatalog doesn't offer offline access anyway.
So, my next question for Amos was, how do I get the website to show full screen on my iPad. They send me back a screen shot of where the "full Screen" button is.
Send an email back that I don't see that button on my iPad, and I just got an email back that "full screen" is only available on a PC, and I can choose to pinch and zoom on the iPad if I so choose.
Considering the fact that I have a monitor connected to my PC, I really don't need full screen there. Where I do need it, is on my tablet.
This company just totally doesn't get digital, does it?
Even their ordering process is archaic. I should be able to go to their website and use some kind of "wizard" to select a year and a country and then be able to order those pages and download a sample PDF of one page. But instead, I need to scroll through pages and pages or do a search.

It do not believe they digital but it may be they do not want to spend a lot of money on it. They will likely say they do not have enough digital interest but the counter may be they have never released a decent product to have enough interest.
They changed their name to Amos Media to go digital.

I bought the Classics Cat from them 1840-1940 2019, and have to sign in every time to access the CAT. It works fine - AMOS is not that mentally deficient....they know people copy and share catalogs...PDF files...impossible with this one....you cannot even print a page or save an image - Bright !!....from their part René

Hi Andy
I once sent a letter to Amos asking about ordering specific countries, since they were computerized. I was told they would not do that as collectors want hard copy catalogs, not just pages. It would be interesting to see sales figures to support that, especially now that it is 12 volumes.
Michel, a few years ago, offered just pages. They would print countries requested and bind them in a book. For my 3 countries, the price was almost triple of a South American catalog.
Best bet, if you want pages, is to order from Chiromd.

Who is Chiromd ? René I wondered that too, so I DuckDuckWent and found a bunch of web MD's. If it's in Ebay, I block that site so I'd never see it.

scottcataloguepages.com/I believe the gentleman is a retired medical doctor in Pittsburgh. He buys a huge pile of Scott Catalogs and cuts them up and sells individual countries. I buy his US, Ukraine and Ireland listings every other year.

Jerry B I have to say, that's crap. There are TONS of print on demand services out there. If they took the time, they could easily set up such an offering and allow people to buy individual countries.
TBH, I think it's long past time for catalog makers to come together and have ONE offering. Why does SG and MICHEL bother with US and Canadian listings? Isn't Scott the standard numbering system for IS Stamps? Same goes for SG. SG has the British Commonwealth covered. Maybe Scott should stop with the work they do on the British Commoonwealth, and cross license with SG. SG uses US numbers and Scott uses SG numbers for their respective countries. MICHEL focuses on Germany and Eastern Europe, where their numbers are more widely used. Divide and conquer the world.
Then MICHEL could translate the Scott Specialized for German customers.
I've started to collect Ireland, and even in the US, a lot of eBay listings use SG numbers.

Hi Andy
I am not sure about Rick. I do know that his wife Karen is a Chiropractor, therefore the Chiromd. I have been buying from them since they started.

I have not seen all Scott digital offerings but is everything just an electronic rendering of a printed page or is content presented differently?

What does Unitrade offer over just using the Canada section of the Scott Catalog?

What does Unitrade offer over just using the Canada section of the Scott Catalog? Unitrade Canada uses the Scott #s as possible, which is good, but it has so many varieties not found in Scott and explanations + Provinces are more detailed an include Proofs and BOB is richer in content....767 pages and include FDCs etc...... Have been using it for 4 years and renew every year, sending my old copy to a member friend (shipping not included) Please find a scan of the Contents, Andy PastuszakRené

Unitrade is a one country catalogue, and cheaper than Scott's.
It is also spiral bound & has everything in full colour. Better paper, better quality.

Depth. It's like a Canada Specialized catalog. I wish there were catalogs this good for other countries that are this clear, easy to use, and very good value.

Essentially, yes, like a superset of Scott numbers.
I don't have my Unitrade handy at the moment, but they have a methodology, as I recall, that indicates when something is an additional listing or variation beyond what Scott lists.
Someone on here is likely to get back to you with a fuller response before I'm back at home to check the Unitrade. (I don't want to rely on my memory to describe their methodology for showing their additional variations and listings.)

I have heard the 2019 paper version may be the last in that format. Otherwise if is any larger it will run into two volumes. Retails fir about $60 CAD, but can be found for less than that if one looks around. David
