In this thread I want to show the stamps of Manchukuo in chronological order. Unfortunately my collection is far from being complete. But I´ll show, what I can. For missing ones,I will show extracts from the Sakura 2001 catalogue. The by Japan occupied Manchuria was established as Republic of Manchukuo on February 18th,1932. On March 1st,1934 Manchukuo was declared an Empire. However the government of Manchukuo was controlled by Japan andis regarded as a "Puppet-Government". definitives, issued July 26th,1932 (part I of 2) The La Ma Ta pagoda at Liaoyang.

asiaphila59Very nice posts and explanations. As I have some 82 Manchukuo in my WW collection, I thought I would put up a few that have not appeared (yet) Sc # 36a - #6 surchage in brown - the 600 dpi scan did not catch the brown I see on this stamp - white paper, (unwmk.) Sc # 56 30f orange brown - Emperor Kang - wmk. 239

I wasn't sure where to post as it seems the stamps shown above were already posted in an older thread. If the moderator wants to blend both threads, that is fine. The stamps shown in your post were shown in the post above along with some information. I can move your posts to the other thread to avoid repetition if you so wish. It see no reason to move the initial posts, as the thread title is specific. Londonbus1

It is the chrono order that is not specific to these - so why not change the name to Manchukuo stamps and it will take care of the two (?) René

Earliar stamps revalued,issued June 1st,1934 (1 on 4 Fen),Feb.13th,1935 (3 on 16 Fen),March 1935 (3 on 4 Fen).
The upper row 1 on 4 Fen exist with black and brown overprint. The brown opt. most often is black- or gray-brown. Red-brown and violet-brown opt. are priced higher.Opt.on the 1932 stamp without watermark only.
The shown 3 on 4 Fen is overprinted on the 1934 issue with watermark. The opt.also exists on the 1932 stamp without watermark.Price is about 8-10 times higher than the watermarked stamp.

Unissued value of the previous set. About forty years ago this was a rather expensive stamp in the range of $ 100.-. Later they appeared on the market in "quantities" and may be now around $ 20.-. Of course $ 20.- 2019,what is quite a different money than the Dollar was forty years ago.

Because of a postal-rates-hike stamps for mail to China were revalued. Of each of the three values exist three different stamps each. I´ll show, what I can: 2 1/2 on 2 Fen,three varieties, issued April 1st,1937 The upper stamp is the overprinted stamp of March 1935 (wmk.manchurian characters),printed by lithography. The lower stamp is the overprinted stamp of 1936,printed by recess. The same engraved stamp was also overprinted with the type of overprint as on the upper stamp. I do not have that one.
