I am quickly tiring of the small number of stamps with each scan so I can clearly see and identify. The fact that the scanner shows them opposite (Left is right and right is left when I open the cover), my slight dyslexia is creating numerous mistakes and "do-overs"
I now require a scanner as my magnifying arm and hand glass is no longer adequate but I do have an appointment Wednesday with the Ophthalmologist, so maybe that will help?!?)
I'm wondering about the clear acrylic pages for say pennies, nickles, etc? I could use a Sharpie to number each cell and not get confused when I remove and flip over to sort accordingly?
Or is there a better solution?

Try scanning the stamps in a Vario-type page -- they won't get out of order when you remove the page from the platen. Here is an example of the output using this "technique.".

Yes, I think that would work! (and I already have that, and probably easier to load/unload than a coin sheet.) And enough room to place a position number under each!
Thanks Steve!!

I've done this for years and assumed everyone did the same , it is so blindingly obvious!!
But maybe some folks have hand held scanners and not Flat bed type? The Canon LIDE 210 I've had for 10 years has been absolutely the tops , not expensive and good quality images
