What I collect: Worldwide - Stamps and Postmarks - not enough time...

What gets me about the expensive pre-printed albums is that usually only cover the basic issues so a mismatch. That is, if someone can afford the price of the album they would likely be more specialized in what they collect so the material is not in these expensive albums. Some of this is related to Scott listing policy and this has a dramatic effect on what is on commercial pages including their own. This gets to what is a major number and minor number. Many are readily available and easily distinguishable. Unlike some of the classic stamps where you need to be an expert to tell two major varieties apart based upon plate scratches. For example. This is a custom page for US Mystic album to add minor and unlisted varieties. If these were classics, most would have major catalog status. There is a collecting transition from collecting different designs to collecting production differences in the designs, Very valid points angore! Quite frustrating at times, how Scotts and also SG's absurd listing policy for the classics skews the picture! An excellent example is the Canada Large Queen on laid paper, with 2 known examples at the time it received a major number! is the page above something you made? I like it, very to the point !

Nice pages blaamand ! I like how you include the image in the background (are you lowering opacity?) Thanks Stan, Yes I aim to get the images as weak as possible, just enough to give an idea/perspective about the stamps issued. Don't want them neither in colours or in rich black & white, as I feel that it is 'stealing' attention from the stamps themselves, if that makes sense. I just want something light on the eye, nothing massive. And I don't want images on every album page either, only a few pictures here and there to add another dimension but stamps 'only'. The editing of images to tweak them dull/faint is very easy directly in Powerpoint (which I use to create the pages). Here's a few sample pages

angore It seems a shame to take all the time to get your boxes and text exactly the way you want them, then to cut the mounts and place the stamps in such a haphazard manner

All these pages are so amazing and beautiful. Congratulations all! I'm sorry if this is not the thread to ask, but, if I wanted to create my own pages, like you guys, what would be the best way to go about it? I've seen somewhere that there's a program for it, but not sure what you experts are using to achieve these beauties. Thank you I personally despise programming so I use AlbumEasy rather sparingly. Some months ago I purchased Affinity Publisher, a powerful DTP software way cheaper than Adobe InDesign (somewhat like 20€ during Black Friday). An example of the pages I can do easily with it:

I bought Affinity Designer, but I still prefer the app called "Graphic" for Mac. It works so well. I downloaded Publisher, but never gave it much of a chance I guess. Album Easy or Graphic. Graphic still works, and I'll try Ventura on the laptop before I upgrade on the iMac.

1991 finished, only added a couple more Vario pages total. This will complete Volume 5 of Canada for me. The rise of the se-tenant as the dominant issue form can be seen clearly here. One more volume to lay out that will cover what was in my father's dealer stock, and actually I only have 1994 (via a leftover annual collection). So gonna need to get the 1992 and 1993 issues to fil the gap (and actually 1991 is a gap as well, but wanted to finish out the volume). Then start working on filling in the post-1995 issues at some point, but I won't need to make pages for those until I start getting material.

Started mounting the stamps for the 1984-1991 Album into their Vario pages. Forgot to post my "Cheat Sheet" for this album The papers reference I copied from Unitrade to include in the album is SO helpful to have with the album!

Making hay while the sun shine - might be going back to work this week, depends on what doctors say on Monday afternoon, so until then keep working on pages. Now have 1992-1994 done, which means all the Canada stamps from my late father's dealer stock now have pages made for them. Will probably make pages for a couple more years to fill up this volume 6 of Canada (should get through 1996, maybe 1997), then will call Canada done until I start picking up material for later years. Part I

I just completed mocking up my Sweden pages. That involved creating pages for Swedish City-post - and finaly the introduction page and the Front-page. Done and dusted - 158 pages in total until 1970. Here's the Front page: The introduction : ...and a sample of 1 of 10 pages for Swedish City/local post. Very basic - but it is sufficient for my use.

It's been some discussion on advantages of various softwares for creating pages. One of the nice things about PowerPoint is the feasibility to easily modify images. Example given the image used on my recent Frontpage for Sweden, showing the Lion statue in profile. It was isolated from this photo showing the Royal palace in the background: I wanted the Lion on its own, and PowerPoint allowed me to remove the background, and end up with this:

Impressing Jon Blaamand! You have to show me how to isolate the motives like that. Cool:)

That's an out of the box result or you had to manually tweak the erased areas?

Thanks patate , There's no function that automatically removes the background, so it took about 4 minutes manual manipulation. I simply draw white 'custom-shaped' figures above the background, along the profile. It's quite quick and easy when enlarging the image first. Once the white figures have been created overlapping the background, all of them and the original picture is copied and pasted as a new single image.(The original picture and the white figures can then obviously be deleted)

Have finished page insert layouts for volume 6 of Canada, takes me to the end of 1997. This will be the last of Canada for now, I'll wait to make more modern pages for when I start getting those stamps in my Collection, right now I end in 1994 so will need to at least pick up 5 years (1992-1993, 1995-1997) to have the basics for what I have already laid out, never mind all the variants. Continuing with Canada...
I started to design and mount my Millenium Collection souvenir sheets that Canada Post issued after complaints about the book. It too longer than expected, getting the borders just right & the sheet roughly in the middle of the page. One per page was all I could do. So, 17 pages and 8-½ large mounts. The things one does for their stamps!

Does Disney own the Winnie the Pooh characters? ex Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winnie-the-PoohIn 1961, Walt Disney Productions licensed certain film and other rights of Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh stories from the estate of A. A. Milne and the licensing agent Stephen Slesinger, Inc., and adapted the Pooh stories, using the unhyphenated name "Winnie the Pooh", into a series of features that would eventually become one of its most successful franchises. However A.A. Milne's U.S. copyright in the Winnie-the-Pooh character expired at the end of 2021, as it had been 95 years since publication of the first story. The character has thus entered the public domain in the United States and Disney no longer holds exclusive rights there. Independent filmmaker Rhys Frake-Wakefield capitalized on this shortly thereafter by producing a horror film titled Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.[31] The UK copyright will expire on 1 January 2027, the 70th year since Milne's death

As part of my Danish album, here are two pages showing the Danish Christmas seals 1904-1945. Made on duplex-printed pages - information on the left side - stamps on the right side.

Those pages look like they should be in a book as a reference.
