Stan, stainlessb I am a little puzzled by the headings on your Belgium1925 pages . Under the country title you have the words " Merson / Liberty and Peace / Definitive series" Is this correct ? I don't see a reference to these except in the Classic France issues of 1900-1926 as in your Avatar …………………………………………?

revised /corrected pages on the original pst for Belgium 1924... at least I hope there is not an another eerror so glaring as to have become complretely invisible until vikingeck mentioned/asked.... It is amazing (to me) how I could have looked at something, including numerous printings on plain paper and not notice that I had "left overs" from the Merson page I used as the initial starting point for headers, frames, fonts and such.... even after he commented it still took me several "reviews" before i saw what he was talking about.... we need a head smack smiley face.....

Thanks renden (René). I need to either make my boxes just the slightest bit smaller, or print them with a black interior. Rather than a solid black interior you could consider a thicker border as per the right-hand stamp in the second row
This will allow for text inside of the box, save on ink/toner, and look a little less harsh when a page has a number of empty boxes still waiting for stamps. Clive

clivel the corrected pages have a 0.1" thick line for the box which gives me some wiggle room! And I think I might be able to reduce a bit more. Because I use black mounts, text inside the box is somewhat irrelevant and I have settled on a short description under each stamp/box. and thank you for taking the time to read and make the suggestions! now on to pondering what pages to make next (it's a great way to discover how many or few stamps of a set series or period one has!) Rather than a solid black interior you could consider a thicker border as per the right-hand stamp in the second row I like your #6 border the best, heavy black borders on the page in the place where the stamp should go. Those who use mounts can then use a clear mount and the black border makes the perforations of the stamp stand out nicely. It's like using a black mount as far as displaying the stamp is concerned, but you don't have to be 100% perfect with the size and squareness of your mounts to have a good looking page. No more worrying about slightly crooked or slightly differently sized mounts! Ryan

Clive Great options clivel and I too think that option no.6, from those you presented, is ideal! The best of all worlds and one gets to keep the interior space for text whilst at the same time giving us, that choose to use clear mounts, the option of having the darker background to highlight teeth, centering, etc.
Now if only I could find a use for the Penguin font in AlbumEasy 4.1.0...
Happy collecting!

Nice page Stanley ( stainlessb)! Looking forward to seeing the filled page. Some observations: it looks like some dates have differing font sizes: 1st and 4th on the second row have a final digit that is larger, as does 1st on the last row. On final row, the 2nd has a larger year, and the 3rd has the whole date larger. I also believe Eugène-Louis Mouchon is missing an accent.

Thanks!! I thought I had caught the font size issues (Scribus defaults to Ariel 12 when editing if you do not go in and change all font size (and type)
and now to print again!

Sorry Stan , here I go again nit picking, but The inscription on the Dominical labels, the bandalettes or tabs is in French and Flemish ( a language allied to Dutch) it is definitely not German!
it is a gesture to the strict Protestant north Flemish people who object to Sunday working and mail deliveries on Sunday. The largely Catholic southern folk could have Sunday delivery by removing the tags or crossing out with a pen

stainlessb - one final nit. If you're going to use "Flemish" (incidentally my native tongue) then you should really use "Walloon" instead of "French" as that is the name of the Belgian French dialect. The other nit - you mention the typography as being done by "Atelier du Timbre, Mechelen" - the name is in Walloon and the town name is in Flemish. I would probably keep them both in Walloon "Atelier du Timbre, Malines" as that would have been the predominant business language in that era.

A gentle correction from a friend can save much embarrassment later when it might matter . This is what makes this Forum special, Alex Yup! It is the second pair of eyes that is appreciated to catch those items we might have missed having stared and worked on the pages for at times, amounts to hours. A lot of time is spent on creating DIY album pages and TSF is a great place for sharing, having the pages reviewed and providing that feedback that makes one's pages even better. At the same time, posting in a public forum suggests one would welcome the feedback even if just a "like" to let individuals know they are on the right track.
For those that have posted, the sharing here in this thread of thier individual pages is warmly received on this end; I know my own pages have improved as a result of others' posts and the feedback they have received...

Although an on-going project, strongly influenced by the TSF membership and others, the work on my Portuguese Ceres pages continues,

I love this thread! There are various approaches on what order stamps are being included on album pages. Many prefer to simply follow the order as in the catalogs - whilst others do something different. I am aiming to let the stamps being presented following a timeline, regardless of the purpose of the stamps. This way I feel the stamps are being presented in a suitable historical context to each other - rather than having stamps issued at the same time or for the same reason scattered at several different places. Yesterday I populated barbu 's first page of Hungary. These were all issued shortly after Hungary became a republic in 1919. Different types of previous stamps were all overprinted with the same overprint reading 'Koztarsasag' - meaning 'Republic'. This page thus includes all the stamps with this type of overprint - they are not split between 4 different sections in the album, as would be the case if following e.g. the order of Scott or Steiner. I am not saying any approach is better, all has it's pros and cons. Just thought I'd share this page to show a benefit of following a timeline. These stamps are with minimal catalog value - but quite a nice set anyway. Most stamps around are unused or with poor postmarks, quite few are postally used and with full postmarks.

first layouts for France Sower.... (printed on plain white copy paper) the first version and only for 10 centimes (although some images will work foir other denominations) but that seems too "top" heavy, so moved to bottom (and I like this better) getting scans and then convering to B/W has been a challenge- I only have one Type II and it is a pale rose/pink and isn't as distinct/clear as the others, but it's a start thoughts? comments? have a better image? and now I'm going to go plant onions!

Looks good, Stan. I prefer top heavy, but that's just me.
If you are separating by value, why not just have it in the header. If they are all one value per page, I'd delete the value under each stamp & move up the description.

renden I'm using the 2009 copy of Timbres de France (though I've looked at other catalogues as well, this one seems the most 'concise' of those I have)- I tried scanning the images from the book but they pixelate rather quickly upon enlargement, thus I opted to look for stamps that I have and can scan. If I was better with illustrator I might attempt a line drawing of the stamp/areas where the Types are determined brightonpete I had thought about putting the denomination (10 centimes) in the header as well, but then this series will be different than all other pages (so far) and I considered devoting two facing pages to the types, but there's too many across all denominations and then I though about just mounting and anyone looking would just have to my word for it there's only 173 shades listed in Maury, Ceres, & Dallay
