And now I have another graphics app to design my pages in. It will take some time in converting over to the new app. I know of Album Easy, but one needs to have the stamp to measure. If you don't have the stamp, you have to wait to print the page until you do.
The text editing is a dream in this new app compared to the other one I have been using. I just have to figure this app out to make it work for me, not against me!

stanley64 , Sorry! I should have cited the work. The book is the classic "How To Arrange And Write-Up A Stamp Collection" by Stanley Phillips and C.P. Rang. Originally published in 1933, I have the 5th edition, second reprint from 1965. Mr. Phillips had passed on by this point. While the technology is a little dated (it speaks to cutting edge Fountain Pen development, lettering stencils and pre-printed labels, but doesn't get into typewriters) I have read and re-read it over the years and it's guidelines for layout, white space vs. writing and use of colour still stand up 50+ years later. Highly recommend it if you can find a copy.  Mark PS - I recently saw another copy at my local club but someone snapped it up before I realized it was free for the taking. Ah well.

This weekend I have done album pages Ireland 1941-70. I have discovered that it is difficult to make compact nice good pages when few stamps are issued. Little to play with. Look forward to next country. But first the pages need to be approved by censor Jon blaamand and Jens@barbu. Sample page.  |

Although not my work nor it is in my collection, this title page from the Wellburn collection (auction lot - 20) is an artwork in itself and does inspire one with its simple layout and hand-drawn graphics; before computers & stuff...  |

Today's effort after being inspired by an envelope of stamps received from René. I used Maury for the numberings (same as Yvert) and the color nuances. I'll sit tight and look at this a number of times over the next few before editing or printing on the Ivory Vellum (this is jusyt on 20# pape and mounting what i now have! If you see glaring errors pleaes do not hesitate to call them out. My progression of new pages is rather helter-skelter and whatever captures my immediate focus (needless to say, I can bget easily side-tracked...)   |

I decided to draft a introduction page regarding Pasteur since he got an entire series of definitives (and then some others later).... this may be over the top and a bit too much.... but I might just start including some background about things related to the stamps being put on "display" photo is from an unkown source, so I didn't steal it !   |

brightonpete it was in a bunch of images with a button to credit author.... which said "authur unknown", so I figured that was acceptable.... and from 1857 to now.... i think that puts it in the public domain. I looked at various sites including Wikipidia as I assembled the text. renden yes, but who knows , I might get lucky!

first completed (with stamps) page for Belgium 1925 Leopold I and Albert I series (corrected pages)   and i know, the consensus is in favor of clear mounts... but i like the black mounts (and I buy pre-cut... so far) |

Thanks renden (René). I need to either make my boxes just the slightest bit smaller, or print them with a black interior. The drawback to the black mounts is getting them exactly in place, otherwise there is a slight outline (and I've pulled off my share of mounts to redo!) I use split backs and only adhere the lower portion to the page (since I use page protectors, there little chance of snagging) I also respect those who prefer clear --- or for that matter, use hinges... though i wish they wouldn't on mint stamps! or just keep them loose in a cigar box under the bed |

If the "mounts" control your life......you have (in general) a big problemo (problem((engl)) or problème((fr))). René p.s. a good Inventory is more important than mounts (personal observation) and my specialty is Inventory - I know where each stamp is in my Stamp Room LOL |

I know where my inventory is also.... in stock card binders, boxes, envelopes, and a growing number of completed pages. what all exactly is in the inventory = beats me so no problemo here  |

Nice work for Belgium 1925 Leopold I and Albert I series stainlessb ; a joy to view and lovely stamps! I like your choice of the black mounts for your pages as they do highlight the stamps' teeth and provides a strong background for the issue itself. At the same time, follow your instinct and I do not think you will not be disappointed printing solid interiors; obviously you loose the text space, but it is an option and does hide "little" faults...
