After a two year hiatus from my stamps due to real life getting in the way, I’ve once again opened my albums and picked up my tongs. Ahhhhh feels great! Looking forward to getting to know some of the newer members here and to catch up with the true blue old timers. Cheers and happy stamping all!

What I collect: Worldwide Stamps 1840-1930

Hi, philatelia , and welcome back to TSF! I am one of those newer members, although I joined in Nov-2016, so it's coming up on three years already for me. I could do some research, I suppose, but perhaps you could tell us a little about yourself again as your re-introduction? More about what you collect, where are you from, etc.? Are your interests only what is written by your Avatar or more than that? I am a US expatriate currently living in France since Apr-2018, but getting ready to move to the UK in Oct-2019. I collect WW up to 1930, but TSF has expanded my interests to include Cinderellas, and other interesting items, especially nice postmarks. Anyway, welcome back, and I look forward to seeing some posts of your favorite material! Best Regards, Chris (aka Beryllium Guy )

Welcome back from another 'relative' newbie. I'm basically a general worldwide collector, but do like to study more into details than simply 'filling boxes'.
Looking forward to see more of what you're doing and going about your collection.
Also curious what you find most tempting to get the tweezers going with after such a long hiatus?

Well sure thing! I’ve been collecting stamps since I was eight. My dad gave me a shoebox full of mixed foreign to give me something to do besides taking apart everything in the house to find out how it worked. LoL! That was about 50 years ago ... I collected worldwide for 20 years then decided it was too much so I kept cutting countries until I was down to a few dozen. My current main interest is the Republic of Ireland, which I love to flyspeck. I’m always shopping for inexpensive bags of Irish material to study and will happily buy or trade for those. I also collect Bermuda, used Japan, Venezuela, Denmark advertising pairs, Scandinavia and a few others. I tried to keep one country from each major geo-political area. I save up my stamp pennies to buy better Irish material or Collections and I buy Japan kiloware because it is one of the last countries where you can find most issues used, they are soakable, colorful and just plain cheap FUN! I try to pass along envelopes of those to kids. My APS number is 156650 and I’ve been a member for about 30 years now. I’m a lifetime member of the EPA, too. I'm happily married to Mr. Computer lol... hubby is president of the local computer club. We have two black mini schnauzers and we live in a lovely retirement HOA in sunny Port St Lucie FL. I am a retired journeyman industrial electrician which I did for over 25 years up in Michigan. I grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Other interests, biking, embroidery, cooking, music and reading mostly sci-fi, fantasy and urban fantasy. Hubby and I love going to the space center for rocket launches. I’ll try to upload a few pics ... The view from my stamp nook ...
Above is one of my kiloware finds!

Hi Philatelia About 30+ years ago my wife had one of those "lots" in Port St. Lucie. She gave it to her sister as a present and I don't know what her sister did with it. Her sister still lives in upstate NY so I guess she sold it. Personally I come from Maine and Florida is too hot for me. My wife comes from South America and Maine is too cold for her. So, we are in Georgia (company move) and trying to decide where to go and how to get rid of all the "accumulated junk", excuse me "antiques" Jerry B

One more pic ... Part of my collection ... too much! I use Hagnar and Vario sheets which is why you don’t see albums, just binders.

Agree with nikhil !! That's an amazing amount of stuff...could probably spend a few weeks in there 😊 Curious what's in those boxes....dups? Covers? Hmmm, curiosity killed the cat, I know... What’s in the boxes? About a third are Irish in various stages of study, a third foreign MNH sets and used duplicates and waiting to be sold or traded and a third is an extensive stock of modern used USA. Covers are in plastic tubs in another area. I used to do tons of trading and tried to keep a good supply of recent used USA for my overseas friends. Many European friends had all the perf varieties on their wishlists, so I started keeping a stock of all of them. By that I mean every position in a booklet pane for example. My USA inventory stops around 2014. The self adhesives dampened my enthusiasm for USA so I’m in the process of breaking up and selling my USA collection, probably on eBay, but I plan to keep one used single of each variety. I sold a bunch at bargain prices to friends in my local stamp club as I much prefer to sell to friends for less, you know what I mean? If anyone here has an interest in USA or Germany send a message. I’m still trying to get organized after a two year hiatus, but I would love to barter some trades.

Here is a sample pic of how most of my collections are set up. For most areas I collect one mint and one (hopefully) postally used. I file new material on the pages ... the ones that are crooked or stuck in there are waiting for me to go back through and cull. I pick the nicest copy then put the rest in red boxes to await a sale or trade. I love using Stock sheets because I can organize multiple copies of the same issue and I don’t have to pay for mounts or supplements, or worry about damage from using hinges, mounts and so on. I am a firm believer in being a good caretaker for any philatelic material that passes through my hands, so I don’t hinge or pencil on anything.

I just started collecting USA, and have a pretty good collection of Germany. Germany still has holes to fill, although most are pricey Empire issues. I do have some I need from 1947 onwards. I am missing the majority of USA, and for now just from 1925 or so through 1970 or so. Too expensive earlier issues & just too many after! My only problem is lack of trading material
