Does anyone know of a mount that allows one to be able to view both sides of an item? Almost something that would be hinged to the page so you could flip over to look at the back side?
I thought about re-purposing the clear coin 'sleeves", but unsure how to affix to a page (that would not be unattractive)?
a page with "windows" would work..... but not very convenient to have to flip a full page

Have you looked at clear mount? The issue is getting an oversize mount to allow space for the hinge. This may be too close to adjacent stamps.

You are looking for something similar to the old Crystal Mounts, which turned out to be an abysmal archival failure. Never never never use Crystal Mounts.
The split back mounts are the rage today, but they aren't suitable for what you want to do.
When I want to do stuff that shows the back as well as the front (i.e, back-side inscriptions, stamps printed on maps...), I end up using single-side Varios (i.e., completely clear Vario pages). An example would be the US Celebrate the Century stamp panes, where descriptive info is printed on the back of every stamp. The clear Vario allows me to see the back of the stamp by simply turning the page. It beats getting 2 copies of everything and mounting one of them face down. But then you have to keep flipping back and forth, as you can't see the stamp front and the back-side inscription at the same time.

The other option is to try using pocket mounts, like the ones sold by APS for their circuit book. Not sure if those would be suitable. They won't hold the stamp in place, which means it will shift around a little when you flip it over (that is the advantage of using Varios, less stamp movement). The APS restricts the purchase of pocket mounts for use in their circuit books, but you can probably contact them to find out their supplier.

If you use the clear Vario mounts, you can still make a page to match, you just have to line up the page to match where you put the stamps in the Vario page. One of the album companies does this, but they charge you a fortune to make it for you.

Hi
I may be wrong, but, didn't the APS stop selling mounts as the supplier stopped making them?

I do recall reading something about the APS looking for another source for their circuit book mounts because the manufacturer was discontinuing them -- but that is from memory, I can't give a citation. Either the APS got the manufacturer to change their mind about discontinuing production, or they found another supplier.

Nice thoughts. I have advertising backprinted stamps for which this discussion is appropriate.
