The preliminary polling identified one article from each issue to compete for selection as the Forum's 2019 APS Article of Distinction. This final poll is intended to select the article which will represent the Forum as its 2019 submission to the American Philatelic Society. The article selected will be posted on the APS website's Articles of Distinction page, along with a link to our Forum. Please identify which of the four articles that you want to represent our Forum. The poll will remain open until 12:01 am October 1, 2019; results will not be displayed until the poll closes. [Note: If you are viewing this post using the "Recent Posts" function, the poll will not be visible -- to see it you must view the thread at the link provided.]

Despite my best efforts to publicize this poll, it seems that not many of are members are aware of its existence.
This poll will determine which article the Forum will send to APS as its 2019 Article of Distinction.
If you haven't done so already, please support the Forum, its Newsletter, and those who submit articles by marking your selection.

I must be blind or I’m having a senior moment, but please where are the four articles to read before voting? I know I’m going to do a forehead slap when you tell me! I can find the last newsletter, but where are the others? Thanks.

The articles can be found in their respective Newsletter issues from Volume 3. The Newsletters reside in the Newsletter archive thread -- you can start reading the article from V3.1 here.

This is an extremely close race so far. Three articles are tied and one follows by only 1 vote. It is important that the Forum's membership support this process and make their selections.

The close vote tally is actually good because it means that all of the articles are great!
For those of you who haven’t voted because you think it will take too long to read all the articles, rest assured that they are not lengthy and all are enjoyable, interesting reads and worth the time.

Theresa ( philatelia ), I like the way you think! I agree that it was difficult for me to choose between them, and I promised myself not to vote for my own. So I am posting to give this thread a bump back to the top of the heap.... Anyway, come on TSF Members, let's turn out for the vote!

There are only 3 days left before the final 2019 Article of Distinction selection poll closes.
If you haven't yet made your selection, please do so.
In addition to supporting the Forum and its Newsletter contributors, your participation in this poll provides an opportunity to win one of the three stamps being offered in the giveaway.

Only 4+ hours to go -- you can't have a chance to win a prize if you don't make a selection in the poll to select the 2019 Article of Distinction.

THE STAMP FORUM'S 2019 APS ARTICLE OF DISTINCTION.We have a tie !!! Yes, another year and yet another tie for the Newsletter Article of the year. On this occasion, as in previous years one of our esteemed members has stepped aside thus avoiding a second vote or random selection. So, many thanks to last years winner Beryllium Guy for such a noble deed which is very much befitting of TSF in general. You are a hero !! Which leaves us with the WINNER............. tomiseksj For his fine article USS Constitution: America's Ship of State. It is perhaps fitting that our forum Ambassador to the APS should take the applause for 2019. Congrats to Steve, congrats also to Chris and many thanks to everyone who contributed to our excellent Newsletter. Long may it continue. I will close by once again asking that you all consider writing something. Let's try to make our Newsletter even better and bigger. You can write here on the forum so why not in our Newsletter ? Give it a go ! Londonbus1

Congratulations to Steve ( tomiseksj ) on winning this year's honor.... I voted for your article on the USS Constitution, a favorite subject of mine, so I am very happy to see you win the award! It is an excellent article, and a great representative of the TSF Newsletter. Thanks to Michael ( Londonbus1 ) for your fine post, and for making the announcement. You are very kind, but to use your own words, that is very much befitting of TSF. It is just another instance of why I love being a member of the Forum. I will try to continue writing articles for the TSF Newsletter. I had written a couple a while back, and then stopped after my move to France, as I initially found my full-time work there a bit exhausting. I started writing again when the Forum had just come through a period of upheaval with a change in leadership on the Newsletter, and perhaps a bit oddly, I found writing articles again to be therapeutic, as I was troubled by what had happened. I have all sorts of plans in mind for future articles, so hopefully after everything settles down for me following yet another household move, I will get going again on the next piece, which has already been started, but is calling to be picked up again. Congratulations again to Steve on winning this year's prize, and thanks to Steve and Michael for your fine leadership of TSF.

I'd like to thank everyone who submitted material for our Newsletter and also those who took the time to support the Forum by participating in these polls. My special thanks go to Chris ( Beryllium Guy ) for his graciously deferring to me to receive this year's honor! I look forward to next year's selection and encourage everyone to consider submitting material for the Newsletter. Please also make your selection in the poll for V4.1 while the articles are still fresh in your minds.
