Welcome stanley64 !! Hope you will enjoy your new second 'home' and have fun. Happy Collecting, Londonbus1 Thanks for the welcome Londonbus1 ! I am quickly learning that indeed, the Forum can become a "second" home. Seeing your interest in British Philatelic Exhibitions, this piece I have, might be of interest and thought to share...

Hi, Vince ( stanley64 ), and welcome to TSF! I am a US expatriate living in France, but will be relocating to the UK in October. Trying to judge from your intro post, are you living in Portugal or just considering Portugal as your main collecting interest, hence the thread name? Or perhaps it is both? Anyway, I am always curious to find out about collecting interests as well as where in the world we are all located and how we ended up there! Enjoy your time with us! Regards, Chris (aka Beryllium Guy ) Hi Chris, thanks for the welcome! To clarify, I live in the Portugal and collect the country's postage as well. I have other collecting interests and look forward to sharing in the coming days...

Thanks for the welcome hrdoktorx ! I have been exploring the Forum's content and there is plenty here; a treasure trove of information and plan to contribute :-) For now, here is a map from my collection of the Antarctica Territories that you might like...
Indeed, I do. The French Southern and Antarctic Territories are my favourite postal administration altogether, and this map series is a favourite among the favourites. I am missing only the YT #PA20 (Sc#C20) Kerguelen map from that series.

I am missing only the YT #PA20 (Sc#C20) Kerguelen map from that series. Fantastic! Given that most of the postage from this administration are engraved, makes them let gems in my eye and this series is no exception. Happy hunting for your missing item! If you have any insights hrdoktorx into the printer marks located in the selvedge of this particular stamp, please do share...

In honour of my 50th posting, I thought I would take a moment and share some thoughts from my initial experiences since joining the Forum.
What a great group! From the initial welcome, to information shared as part of the individual member postings is top drawer, bar none...
The stamps, collections and knowledge of the group has opened my eyes further in areas I already collect and introduced me to new ones; I am glad I joined :-)
A great place to have landed...

They say October is "Stamp Collecting Month"; so to my fellow collectors, I raise my glass and say, "A nossa!"
for anyone in the Lisboa area, I would be more than happy to share a glass of the real thing...

Indeed, it has been quite the year Chris ( cjoprey ) for both of us as you too observe the one-year mark! For me, it has been a year filled in part with my share of postings and the collection of "posting points", aka likes & mentions ;-) I have enjoyed sharing some of my collection here René ( renden ) and despite the sometimes awkwardness of one-way communications on social-media forum using nicknames, handles and only written exchanges to engage, it has been pleasant enough.
As mentioned previously, since that initial post to introduce myself, what have I done or accomplished? Let me see...
In addition to the postings created on various topics such as, Canada's Imperial Penny Postage, Portuguese Ceres, Penguins, Antarctica (B.A.E. II) etc., I have continued to develop and post my own DIY album pages with the intent to one day exhibit e.g. Map Stamp RPOs. Over the course of the year I have also expanded my library and increased my philatelic knowledge.
It is in the fact the knowledge gained, whether it be about specific stamp issues, events documented on these little bits of coloured paper or articles read that threads the journey of the past three-hundred and sixty five days together. Let us see what is to be learned in the next year...
Happy collecting!

You are quite right Vince ( stanley64) - I had completely missed my own anniversary on the 25th! To break a rule for a moment and go native - van harte gefeliciteert Vince! (a.k.a. "congratulations Vince")

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

Greetings to one and all,
Although the summer weather continues here on the Iberian Peninsula, the children have returned to school this week and once again, with the calendar indicating the beginning of Autumn, it is time to pick up the stamp tongs for the new season...
Happy collecting!
