Frankly, I did not even think we were permitted to have stamps from Cuba. I've recently picked up an old collection, and I found amongst it an envelope of late 19th century and early 20trh century Cuba stamps. Can anyone enlighten me as to what I should be looking for as far as anything interesting? I'm assuming most of them are pretty common, as there are many duplicates. There's some in there the previous owner thought were Cuba, but apparently they are Spain. Any advice about Cuba is appreciated.

I only have 165 stamps from Cuba and they come from my late father's collection - Mine start at Scott 65. It would be interesting to know how many you found in that old collection. I never bought a Stamp from that Country and at one time may simply put it in the downsizing list of Countries I do not wish to pursue. At least they are all inventoried and in Album. Interesting.....?? René

I'll be happy to share and show them. If I ever figure out how to post pics on here. I've always struggled with that.

The US government has embargo on trading with CUBA [ also IRAN, NORTH KOREA and goodness knows how many other countries the Donald decides to exclude] this means that while it is not in anyway illegal to collect stamps from these countries, it is not possible to trade these stamps on eBay or get payment by PayPal . Try listing Persia Iran Cuba etc and the item will be removed by eBay.
even 100 year old stuff that has been in the US for 50 years and never out of the country is subject to removal due to the embargo. I have to confess that to a non American such a restriction on my selling or purchasing is more than just a minor annoyance.

The ebay policy on embargoed goods may be viewed here. Essentially, ebay doesn't permit the sale of pre-embargo items because they can't determine when the items left the embargoed countries.
