I recently bought a complete set of the 2016 Scott catalogs, which arrived in the mail today. It's been a long time since I purchased one of these (my old set was 1999). All I can say is WOW! Color! When were these first issued in color? Best $48 I've spent in a long time...

I do not recall the exact date was took a few years to get most in color. If I recall, Scott was able to get access to a very extensive collection for scanning.

Yeah, 2004 sounds right. I had moved to Yvert for my French Africa and was enthralled with their earlier full color editions. I do recall that some early Scotts were a bit color challenged but they have since tightened up the shading.
