Ugh! Why can’t I find paper I want to use for printing pages? All I find is 20# copy paper, 24# laser jet paper, or 65# card stick that’s just too thick. What do you all use and where do you find it? I struck out at Office Max. So frustrating. My New France album awaits!

My compromise paper was 70lb text/28lb bond (104 g/m2) Domtar Earth Choice Cream from amazom. The 67# cover was too much (reduced pages in binders, costs, etc). I have used almost 2000 pages (at least 100 spoils) so far. The color best matched my Mystic album pages. I had started with a 28# white paper (still have most left) but got turned off on white.

I use Exact Vellum Bristol Cardstock 67# Ivory $18.99 /250 (#82361) from Staples
stiff, but not too stiff prints very nice on a laser printer

I don't have a Staples nearby. I have Office Max. I saw that Vellum Bristol 67# Cardstock. But isn't that even heavier than the 65# cardstock I was using? It's just too thick. I also have Mystic U.S. albums, and I wish I could find paper comparable to that.

it's 0.009 mm thicker (.25 mm) I tried light weights but was not happy with the results
you may need to go to a printer and see if they will order paper and sell it to you, though there must be an online source somewhere, but you'll likely need to decide just what you want

The Domtar is slightly heavier than Mystic.
I have gathered thickness measurements from various papers and despite the ratings caliper varies. These are for papers I have checked. I can add Scott.
White Ace 8 mil Minkus 7.5 32# laser 4 mil 28# laser 5 mil Mystic 4.6 mil Domtar 5.3 mil Well Centered Publish 7.1mil Cougar60 4mil USPS Souv. Pages 5.5 mil 20# 3.8 24# 4.8 28# 5.8 Index Card 8.5 m

Personally, I use 110 lb. card stock because I like a stiffer page.
For unusual sizes and weights, I order from paperworks.com. This company can be a little pricey, though. They had stocks in the 28 lb. and 32 lb. ranges that may suit your needs.
You may also try searching on eBay. I recently found a somewhat hard-to-find size and weight paper there (11" × 17" card stock) from a seller who was offering it at a price significantly below everybody else. Surprisingly, I received it the next day and it had actually shipped directly from Staples.

I use a Neenah product usually available at Office Max/Office Depot, Astrobrights Colored Cardstock, 8.5” x 11”, 65 lb/176 gsm, Stardust White (Multi-Color Flecked). It is also available on Amazon or at Neenah's website though Amazon has the best pricing. It sounds, however, that you don't want 65lb. paper.
It might be worth exploring what they have available on either Neenah's website or Amazon's website as they may have more options that fall within that range of 24# to 65# papers.

I get my paper from the Paper Garden in Vancouver BC. Excellent quality...
Pop-Tone Gumdrop Green 8 1/2" x 11" text weight Paper • 8 1/2" x 11" sheets • Basis Weight is 28/70 lb Text (104 gsm) • Has a smooth vellum finish (not translucent) • Each sheet is the same on both sides • Acid Free (Archival), Elemental Chlorine Free • Both Cover weight and Text weight are laser printer and inkjet printer compatible. • Pop-Tone has been formulated with the best dyes and pigments in the industry, making it one of the most lightfast, fade resistant papers available. • Matching envelopes are available in various sizes.
I also use an orange paper of the same quality, print double sided. Works great!

I've been very happy with the Staples "cover stock" at 67 lb/148 g/m2. So similar to others here. Found the 110 lb card stock too stiff.

Hi daveg28
If you have a local "Mom and Pop" print shop nearby, go there. I am not talking about any of the big print shops. The local print shops are highly knowledgeable and if they do not have the paper you want, they can order it. Realize you may have to buy 500 sheets, or at the least 1 ream.

The Scott paper appears to be more like Index stock because of the very smooth finish.

I also use 67# Staples cover for title pages. They match my cream Domtar paper well.

I do like the paper used by White Ace- they say it's "60#"- but I want to print on my inkjet printer and it doesn't have a backside manual feed and won't pull a 60# sheet through the directional turn. I was skeptical about the "stiffness" of 28#- whether my printer could handle it- but I printed a sample page and it did quitely nicely--- it is also just stiff enough to resist corner bends (not immune, but resistant nonetheless). So I'll probably settle on the 28#. Now I'll have to think about someone's comment that the typical 28# found in stores is just "too white" with stamps mounted on it.
Does someone have the mil, #, and thickness specs on Lighthouse pages and Davo pages? Some of my collections are already in preprinted albums.
