It does not match the regular Danish Christmas seals issued each year since 1904 through the Danish Post office .
The costume and dog looks like Greenland as does the twin barred TB cross which is common on Greenland seals but not on Official Danish ones
The date is odd 9 . 3 .1972 Not Christmas . Still some questions to be answered.

DJF could possibly indeed mean Danske julmaerken fonden ie Danish Christmasseals Fund. But the design is not one of the official ones so we do need further help to identify exactly what it is. It is obviously a TB charity label

Good try, Alex ( vikingeck), you are on the right track, but I think I may have found the answer. DJF = Danmarks Julemaerkesamler Forening = Denmark Christmas Label Collectors' Association So, I think that you are right in thinking that it is not an actual Christmas seal. It is a Cinderella issued by the Danish Christmas Seal Collectors' Society for an event, that I am guessing took place on 09-Mar-1972. That's my guess!

landsmøde Translates as “Congress” so an event or meeting of the DJF sounds logical.

Chris is correct. Landsmode is the name of the Association (DJF) meeting and the item shown is their 24th meeting and issue. The first was in 1948. Their Committee includes members of the Tuberculosis Society.
Lovely design, possibly by a Mrs.A.Stougaard ?

Well a combined piece of accumulated knowledge and experience gradually leading us to Londonbus1 ‘s confirmation which I believe has cracked the code! the little boy’s furry trousers are a nod to Greenland , which of course is Danish ( until Mr Trump manages to buy it for America!)

I agree. I would definitely think this is a Greenlandish issue, since they have their own Christmas seals, following the Danish tradition.

This has been a fascinating little exercise and shows the value of group chat and shared knowledge. Thanks Terri for introducing us to this handsome Danish lad from Greenland.

I agree with the boy and trousers, and heaps of snow in the background having a nod to Greenland. However I still believe this is as Danish as anything. The colours are dominatingly white and red, as their flag, and as Chris pointed out, the first letter 'D' says 'Dansk'. Not Greenland. This charity seal is in my opinion Danish, honouring their relationship with Greenland.
On that note, did you know Greenland rightfully should have been Norwegian? Greenland, Iceand and the Faroes had been under Norwegian dominance/possession for centuries when Norway at first entered a voluntary union with Sweden and Denmark. This union changed to Denmark being dominant. After Napoleon lost the war, European powers wanted to punnish Denmark and honour Sweden's fight against Napoleon, so Norway was taken from Denmark and given to Sweden. But the deal forgot that Norway should have got their traditional Western Isles with them in that transition, so from then on these islands were suddenly Danish. Well, that's the history lesson of the day...!

That that is agreed , I just wanted to give attribution to the choice of design for this label. You said it was Danish from the start, the rest of us added bits , Chris explained theDJF for us and Londonbus1 confirmed all the details . Terri has all she needs by way of explanation ........ maybe even too much information but it was interesting.

Thanks vikingeck. Absolutely interesting inputs from all! Point taken on the too much information: the 'history lesson' was totally beside the point, just another fun-fact Trump will never understand, hahaha.

Never too much information where stamps are concerned! The more you learn the more you enjoy the hobby. Besides, I just love these interesting inquiries into a little traveled side road of philately.

Just another little snippet along with a wild guess that may or may not be confirmed after a little more research. The DJF are still going strong up to the present day. Their meeting in 2019 was held in early October (as have others previously) in Aalborg. The meeting scheduled for October 2020 will be held in Copenhagen. Which leads me to the wild guess that the date on the labels in the initial post is actually September 3rd not March 9th. It would make more sense to bring out a new label in the Autumn and before the run-up to Christmas ! As I said, just a wild guess. Londonbus1
