Are these precancels on #77? Or part of the main cancel?  I came across a pic of a precancels while doing my wishlist on Colnect -  By the way, THANK YOU, Rene, renden , for encouraging me to get an updated Canada wishlist and THANK YOU tobben63 for encouraging me to use Colnect. I am learning so much about my Canada stamps and -wow - so many wonderful varieties to add. I LOVE this type of philately! |

Unfortunately, these are not pre-cancels, the stripes are part of the flag slogan cancel.
I know because I found many similar cancels myself, and just like you I wondered if they were pre-cancels. I was disappointed to find out they were not...
Anyway, nice stamps, Canada is a great area to collect, enjoy!!!

My husband is Canadian and his mom gave me the family collection to add to mine, so this collection is a part of the family. I will never sell the classics of this collection, but I did prune all the modern booklets.
I may leave it to the nephew who is a very bookish fellow. He doesn’t have time right now - just started in a busy corporate law practice -( brag brag! Top ten - Duke Law!) but when he gets older, I think he would appreciate it as he minored in history and French literature. He was also taken every year to visit family in Canada so he would appreciate his family heritage. The family has been on the same farm for about 100 years now - mostly apple orchards near Point Pelee in Ontario.

The explanation is that the flag cancels come in various designs, Wert showed one type, there are numerous others...

Didn't even notice that...I do have stamps that are precanceled with post office cancel over it..Which takes away the process of fast delivery.

Yes! Like WERT said - a flag cancel, but like You said, blaamand, a different flag. this is my back to school week! I keep finding things that raise questions. And - I’m the kid who always asked WHY. Troublemaker haha! |
