Please select your favorite article from this issue. The poll will remain open until Midnight, August 31, 2020; results will not be displayed until the poll closes. Similar polls will be created to identify the favored article for each subsequent issue of the Newsletter. During September 2020, the four "favorites" will be included in a final poll to select the article which will represent the Forum as its 2020 APS Article of Distinction. Every time I review the Recent Posts, I am impressed by the wealth of knowledge our members possess but puzzled as to why so few submit material for publication in our Newsletter.

Every time I review the Recent Posts, I am impressed by the wealth of knowledge our members possess but puzzled as to why so few submit material for publication in our Newsletter. I was hesitant until you told me that they need only be a few pages. That seemed much less intimidating. But you’re so right - I’ve thought that sometimes the posts here are almost enough for an article in themselves. Maybe the authors of those could be tempted to gussy them up a bit and submit them?

Thank you gillian I'd like to second what tomiseksj stated in his post above. Come on guys, let's have some more articles for the Newsletter and maybe we can return it to it's previous status !!?? It doesn't take long and there are simply zillions of things to write about. Maybe an encouragement 'Giveaway' is needed ? It worked the last time .....Mmmmmm! Londonbus1

Thanks Bob, much appreciated!! I enjoy both reading & writing and it does help when the subject matter is of interest ;-)
Writing about one's collections does allow for some additional reflection on the material, the flexing of the grey-matter muscles and you can share that knowledge with others. Win-Win in my book!
At the same time, let me give a plug for the TSF newsletter. The writing process does not have to be difficult, long or even complex as I do not think any of the readers are expecting a "War & Peace" tome and I would encourage others to give it a try. There is a wealth of knowledge and stories contained in the threads here on the board that could form the basis of an article and the editorial staff of TFS make it a pleasant experience to get your article into an issue. Go on, give it a go! I would welcome reading your material... Happy collecting! PS. If you choose not to write, please do vote and show your appreciation for those that do!

I enjoyed very much reading this issue. As a cinderella collector, my vote goes to my friend Michael (Londonbus1) for his article "Impresions and adquisitions". Truly impressive!
