Hello I am sad to learn that Linn's magazine will no longer be available in PDF I found it very practical in PDF since I kept them in archives for future references. We cannot even print the Articles that we would like to keep for reference. I complained to Linn's they told me it was like that. I am really disappointed I was subscribed to this mazine for years, I believe not to renew my registration since it no longer has its utility for me.

Strange
But there is still possible to subscribe to it online, and read online. And from what I can see it is possible to print pages.
But I don't and will not subscribe.

It is hard to find fault, given that Amos is a business, not a charity. Here is their rationale for eliminating the PDFs:

I had complained elsewhere. There was a response to one complaint in the latest issue in the Letters to the Editor section. You can save screen shots using the built in flip software utility but the result is a not that good png format image. It does not print well. I found if you use the built in Windows 10 screen capture utility you will get a better image but not near the original quality. I have been experimenting!
For the moment, you cannot even save the issue locally for viewing without an internet connection.
Some exec at Linn's likely thinks they are losing sales due to "bad actors" redistributing PDF files so this limitation will boost circulation (or drive more printed circulation). In reality, it will likely annoy more people than they get as subscribers. Even if illegally redistributed the advertisers including Scott benefits by getting their ads in front of more people. It would be an interesting statistic to know. There must be a tipping point where printing is just not economical.
I subscribed to Gibbons Stamp Monthly - still a PDF and they even break down articles as PDFs.

I recently subscribed to Linn’s after having a trial subscription to the digital edition for a number of years. I have a folder on my desktop with the PDF copies of all of the issues which were available.
While I enjoy reading each issue, the new reader is not especially user friendly or mobile friendly. At some point I will start grabbing screenshots of each issue and converting them to PDF. That is my preferred format and much easier to use when looking back at articles.
Amos seems to be overly cautious and tentative when it comes to using technology. I would love to see them embrace technology, but that is probably never going to happen.

...Amos seems to be overly cautious and tentative when it comes to using technology... Likely due, in part, to the CD version of their 2009 Scott Catalog having been so heavily pirated.

It is hard to find fault, given that Amos is a business, not a charity. Here is their rationale for eliminating the PDFs: It's perfect with me, but I don't think you will increase your membership with this way of doing things, but cut your membership and then your advertising, since with the internet, e-bay, etc... it is so easy to buy stamps without going through your ads. Also the price of your products and those of advertisers are much too high go see the comparable on e-bay etc. So I will not renew my subscription in March 2020 Thank You for your information.......... No hard feelings it a biz
