Nothing incredibly thrilling for me.
The only one I really like is the Mayflower in Plymouth Harbor.
I'm not a huge fan of photographs on stamps.

Yes the Mayflower was nice. But as a fan of bicycling and especially terrain cycling I like the one with terrain cycle on, but on tarmac?

Yep, mostly snoozers and the workhorse bulk rates are still dull.

Is anyone else as annoyed as I am that you can't purchase a block of stamps any more? So many times, I want just a block of four stamps instead of an entire pane, like with the just released Arnold Palmer stamp. The local stamp club had their annual show last weekend, and there was a USPS rep there selling stamps. She was actually willing to sell partial panes and blocks on many issues. She wouldn't break up a Year of the Rat pane, but I did get a number of other new and recent stamps from her in blocks of four. I hated it when I discovered that they removed the block of four option from ordering on the website.
And yes, I agree that a number of this years stamps are underwhelming. The more I dig into collecting older French stamps, the more I really miss engraved stamps. It just seems like a cop-out to use a photo for a stamp image. That goes for U.S. stamps, too. I miss the old engraved stamps we used to issue. And I miss air mail stamps, but that's another rant. I guess I'm off to the nearby post office on my lunch hour today to buy an entire pane of Arnie.
Update: Back from the post office, and she had one sheet of Arnold Palmer left. 1 day after availability! And the lovely lady was willing to sell me only a block of 4. Success, and I bought one of the orchids booklets as well. Need that one, too.

Many actions by the USPS goes against encouraging collecting -hard or impossible to find at PO, minimum purchases (blocks of four or full sheets), self adhesives (popular with mailers), not being used on mails, dull definitives (the presorts). etc. They have increased the gimmicks (foil, heat sensitive, etc).

While I agree, the majority are snoozers, I do like the Mayflower one and also the express and priority stamps. Actually just bought 4 Big Bends today

I snoozed on the Arnold Palmer pane that I wanted. USPS has removed them from the store (high demand?) and a couple of local Post Offices did have them. Luckily got one on eBay for a fair price.
I don’t buy much US anymore but wanted that one. My son, who is very much into golf but doesn’t collect stamps might like a custom framed presentation page of a plate block if I can find one of them. He’d hang it in his home I’m sure. Just thinking out loud....

I like the Year of the Rat ones (mostly because my partner is from China and so I am becoming more interested in Chinese culture) as well as the produce and the thank you stamps. But yes, many of the current designs don't seem as inventive or artistic as some of the ones from the 90s, 2000s, and perhaps even 2010s. Here's to hoping that things get reinvigorated.

From my readings and anecdotal evidence, the hobby has seen a recent resurgence and to keep these new faces and tong sets engaged, postal authorities like the USPS need to offer material that is both appealing and engaging to these new collectors in order to keep, advance and promote the hobby going forward :-)
From what I have seen so far, I think there is promise...
Happy collecting!
